International law applies to all States, without exception. Respect for its rules is not optional. Without it, instability spreads, mistrust deepens & conflicts spiral out of control. This is not the moment to retreat from international law. It is the moment to reaffirm it.

Assume everything else is correct. Why is Iran having a nuclear bomb unacceptable? The only country that has ever used nukes, and the one that has them but never admits it, are both attacking Iran over this. Nukes are bad. Cool. But why are they only bad when Iran has them? I don’t understand this part.
