Yes, this time around I decided to do top 8 share / meta share, so for BP 146% conversion means the top 8 share was 46% higher than the meta share overall (44/30). A 100% conversion would mean the meta share and top 8 share were the same %, and a value below 100% means that a deck lost top 8 share relative to it's meta share overall, ie for AS 9/13 = 72%. Would this be clearer if I presented it as number instead? Maybe "Conversion Ratio"?

So the first week of tournaments on set 9 have run, let's dive in! We're looking at just set 9 core constructed tournaments reported to Inkdecks, no infinity. Coming into this weekend everyone really had three decks in their top spots, 🔵🟣, 🟣⚪️, and🟡⚪️. In the end those first two decks came out swining, while the third fell flat on its face. In terms of meta share, the top 3 decks occupy just over 66% in rooms reported. Most of the remaining 33% was made up of stragglers in 🔴🟣, 🔵⚪️, 🟢🟡, 🟢🔵, 🟢🟣, and 🔴⚪️. Things consolidate even more when we move onto top 8 share, where 🔵🟣 and 🟣⚪️ go from 30% and 25% of the room to 45% and 35% of the top cut, punching way above their weight. 🟡⚪️ suffered here, being 13% of the room and only 9% of reported top cuts. Beyond those, only three other decks saw a top 8 finish, 🔴🟣 having 2, while 🔵⚪️ and 🟢🟡 managed a single spot each. With 80% of top cuts being monopolized by two decks, nobody else really impressed here, you could argue any of the other decks got in on good luck and roughly proportional top spaces to their number of players. When people started testing for set 9, everyone's first question was how to beat 🟡⚪️. Right now it looks like that's no problem if you're playing 🔵🟣 or 🟣⚪️, which you should be if you want to be on the best decks this moment. For those feeling a little more adventurous, you should probably adjust your approach. You probably want to be able to hold ground to 🟡⚪️ OTP, but you can probably start to get a bit greedier and ignore this matchup and hope to dodge it round 1. Find a deck that can handle 🔵🟣 and 🟣⚪️ at the same time and you've got yourself the meta's 3rd real deck. If you're wondering what I'm considering, I think the best challengers look like 🔴🟣 and 🟢🔵, which should be able to handle our top two decks at the same time without much difficulty. Prospects are worse for 🔵⚪️ and 🟢🟣, which both suffer from being able to target either top list effectively, but usually at the expense of the other matchup. It is extremely early to begin looking at matchup data so I'll only spend a brief moment on it here at the end, but 🔵🟣 and 🟣⚪️ split exactly 50/50 on reported results, with the former having a moderately better 🟡⚪️ matchup boosting it's overall winrate. No other decks have reported enough data to even begin considering it.
