The American flag is flying over a new political divide.
Just 27% of Democrats say they'll display a U.S. flag this July 4, according to a new poll, compared with 64% among Republicans.
The survey also found major differences in how Americans view the holiday itself. Nearly two-thirds of Republicans (65%) said July 4 is "a day where I celebrate the United States of America," while only 24% of Democrats agreed.
What was once one of the country's most universal symbols is increasingly being viewed through a partisan lens as Americans prepare to celebrate Independence Day.
@BleacherReport@richmacleod impressive playing a shitty Cavs team (Cavs fan btw) & then playing a young Spurs team who went 7 games with the defending champs? Nah. Spurs couldn’t close games out because of that Thunder series. Impressive sure but not the most impressive. Mavericks have that title.
The party who calls you a Nazi, Hitler, racist, a Putin puppet, a pedo protector, a white supremacist, and every name in the book 24/7 - wants you to know that calling Michelle Obama, a man is a bridge too far.
Gotta be honest, this @ufc event at the White House looks spectacular. This is a big time show. I’m not there, and we all know all the complaints folks had about renovations at and around the White House, etc, but — to be fair — this is some impressive stuff I’m looking at. Props to UFC President @danawhite and the show they’ve put on. It’s Bigtime. Plain and simple!!!
Watching people desperately try to be a part of this Knicks championship is embarrassing. Oh you lived in NY one year and now you’re a lifelong Knicks fan? GTFO
“I wanted to go along and see if we could win a championship together.” 🏆
Rick Brunson reflects on joining the Knicks' coaching staff and sharing a championship journey with his son, Jalen.
@Mr_Radd_ Congrats man. The worst team to ever win a finals lol. They played a Cavs team that isn’t very good and a young Spurs team that got burnt out by beating the defending champs. They won’t sniff another finals for 50 more years.
@espn@SportsCenter Spurs in 6. Spurs just dethroned the best team in the league in 7 games. They needed to recalibrate. They shot poorly and let Brunson go off. Knicks streak ends in game 2.
The Knicks wiping out a 22-point deficit in the fourth quarter against the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals turned out to be a warmup act for what might be the most memorable win in franchise history and the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history.
