@a_swick @JigarShahDC Most vehicles are being used during midday peaks, right when the grid would need it most. Home batteries like Powerwall make more sense than a vehicles, not that V2G isnt useful sometimes

Utilities will spend $50M on a substation upgrade before spending $10K on equipment that gives them access to your EV battery.⁣ ⁣ That battery in your garage could be powering the grid during peak demand instead of another substation nobody wanted.⁣ ⁣ The lack of imagination from utilities is hard to stomach.

@JigarShahDC it's to hard to imagine the large difference in reliability between a substation the control 24/7 and several thousand V2G EV's that may or may not be available to them.

Question for @bmoses30 Why do you host a live show on BuckeyeScoop YouTube every night with NevadaCuck and even tonight with his rat son Parker, but pretend you don’t on Twitter? You used to tweet out BuckeyeScoop show links all the time and QT the acct - why have you stopped?

@tylerhnorris A more equivalent analogy would be that you plan to pack your lunch most days, but you have to find having a cafeteria for days you don’t.

4/8 Analogy: imagine you bring your own lunch to the office so you don't have to wait in the cafeteria line. PJM’s plan takes your lunch, puts it in the communal fridge, and says you aren't allowed to eat it if the building is running low on food.

1/8 Just filed at FERC: Data Center Coalition (@DCC_org ) responds to PJM’s plan for co-located loads. @Google is a member and fully agrees - PJM is moving in the right direction, but its current proposal is fundamentally flawed & undermines the primary appeal of colocation 🧵

One final overtime stat (unless I think of more)... In tiebreakers, when a wrestler won the coin toss and took bottom, they went 9-7. When they deferred, they went 3-6. In other words, the wrestler who took down first went 15-10, winning 60% of the matches. It's a small sample size, but you might not want to defer the coin toss. In fact, the NFL changed their overtime rules because with the old rules the team that won the coin toss was winning the game 61% of the time, and that was deemed unfair.
MatSavant@MatSavant

Some interesting facts about overtime in this years NCAA Tournament. There were 69 total overtime matches (SV and TB combined). Here's the kicker: 36 of those matches were lost by an opponent with exactly 1 point. That means the match was either 1-1 or 0-0 (unlikely) going in to overtime. That's 5.6% of all matches that went in to overtime with a 1-1 score, meaning we were probably watching 7 minutes of neutral without scoring. This is what the fans don't want to see. (continued...)

Not a loud storyline from this weekend, but an awesome & rare one: @PackWrestle's Isaac Trumble, who was undefeated on the year, and shut out #1 Yonger Bastida in the Finals to win his NCAA title, will be commissioned in the Army in May. Having been a member of NC State's ROTC program, he will look to begin his career in the U.S. Army Infantry as a field artillery officer. Gotta love & appreciate that! Thank you for your service, @isaactrumble_! 🫡🇺🇸

Since 2014, no #1 seed has lost in the first round. In fact, 119/120 have reached the quarterfinals. Here's the data for every seed.

@Waksman84 New reactors take 10+ years. If "imported fossil fuels" is a reference to oil, most oil is used for vehicle transport. Not electricity generation. Fastest way to drop oil consumption is electric vehicles, charged with solar and wind.

I'm not sure who needs to hear this, but the fastest way to eliminate reliance on imported fossil fuels is to build nuclear reactors.

Hole. Lee. Sh*t. “In 1952, then-LieutenantWilliams was serving with VF-781 aboard the USS Oriskanyas part of Task Force 77. On 18 November 1952, on his second mission of the day, while on combat air patrolnear Hoeryong, North Korea, his group of four pilots spotted seven MiG-15soverhead. The other three pilots had to return to the carrier and the MiGs began to fire on Williams, putting him into a one-man dogfight with seven MiG-15s that lasted 35 minutes.[5] It is believed to be the longest dogfight in U.S. Navy history.[3] Commanders on his carrier ordered him away, but Williams had to tell them that he was already fighting for his life.[6] He shot down four of the MiGs and likely hit two others.[7] By the end of the 35-minute period, only one of the MiGs was still in the air with him, and he managed to escape back to his carrier, out of ammunition and having lost his hydraulics. He was uninjured, but 263 holes were counted in his Panther jet.”
Rep. Darrell Issa@repdarrellissa

BREAKING NEWS: @realDonaldTrump has just informed my friend, constituent, and 100 year-old hero Royce Williams that he will be receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor. I call Royce “The Secret Soldier of the Forgotten War” — and his exploits as a jet pilot taking on Soviet MiGs over the South China Sea in 1952 are a timeless story of indomitable courage that every American should know.
