We teach our kids to score points and keep scoring points. The magic number used to be 7 to have a good chance at winning, but with the new scoring system you really need to be getting 8-10 to win the majority of your matches. Unless you're AJ Ferrari bro. And you probably aren't. This data is based on every D1 match wrestled so far this season.

@TimCampbell30 @Yuno_Mal Apparently that’s where we’re at. I prefer you get up, shake hands, and go focus on getting better so you don’t lose next time. That’s the real revenge, but it takes a strong man to realize it.

@MatSavant @Yuno_Mal A push is worth a punch. A punch is worth a knife. A knife is worth a gun. Is that where we are here? 🙄

@MatSavant @MrPatMineo It’s a combat sport. If you do something like that, you should expect the retaliation to be more aggressive than the sport itself

@MatSavant @R12096884R @DisposablEnsign @MrPatMineo His response to me is LIKE that someone who would claim self defense Because if the guy hadnt shoved his head, he wouldn't have gotten punched that's not a perfect analysis but it is the basis of why the guy punched him to begin with Continuing to argue won't change my mind

@BumLumpy @DisposablEnsign @MrPatMineo Where I grew up, if you wanted to fight then you fought. But you didn’t hit a guy who wasn’t looking. He was disrespected. He was rightfully looking for revenge. But there’s an honorable way to respond and a dishonorable way in my opinion.

@DisposablEnsign @MatSavant @MrPatMineo Making excuses for people who fully deserve the consequences they received explains why we are quickly becoming a nation filled with whiney pussies! There was bad behavior that was immediately corrected. I guarantee he’ll think twice about doing something similar in the future.

@MrPatMineo Apparently pushing on the head is standard but it’s also a cheap shot, plus I’m a “TARD”

@MrPatMineo He didn’t deserve to be cheap shotted but he absolutely should get hit with unsportsmanlike himself for shoving the kids face in the mat after the whistle.

@DukeInvests @ScanticAntiques No, this us a millennial. I can tell because GenX doesn’t complain. They just take what they get and don’t throw a fit.

Everyone loves to say boomers had it easy. No one mentions that in the early 1980s (when boomers were in their 20s and 30s), mortgage payments as a share of income were just as crushing as they are today. Mortgage rates hit 18.5% in 1981.

I’m raising a son, how do I avoid this?? Processed food is an issue forsure, strenuous activity needs to be increased, what else?? I don’t want a soft kid because I wasn’t raised soft

@DukeHerndon The stark physical difference between young men and young women of the same age is severely understated. Relationships with significant age gaps are very obviously biologically advantageous.

My children are in high school. I’ve spent the last 18 years preparing them for an imperfect world, and there’s nothing I want more that for them to have a better life than me. I taught them to control what they can control, and accept the rest for what it is. There’s no point in complaining, just get on with what needs to be done.

5 dollars in 1972 is equivalent to 33 mcdonalds cheeseburgers btw. Youd have to charge 115 dollars mowing the same lawn now to buy 33 cheeseburgers. Really think about this. Mow 1 lawn and you can eat a cheeseburger every single day for a whole month. 12 lawns, a whole year.
CaptainA@Captaingpa

@dubsndoo Before I got my dishwasher job in 1972 for $1.60 an hour I was mowing yards for $3-5. Yeah we were rolling in cash.

“I must have a $400,000 house” Meanwhile the house my boomer parents raised us in for 25 years & had a 16% mortgage is under $250,000 right now in 2026.

@DangerBrooks The Great Depression and Dust Bowl would disagree. The difference was that people didn’t complain so much back then as they abandoned their homes to migrate west while trying not to die of starvation.

I'm prepared to believe that every generation has said the younger generation is wasteful and spoiled. The difference is that the Boomers and now my generation are the first Americans to leave their children worse off.

The basic argument here is that young people should accept worse lives. You can dress it up by putting avocado toast and student loans in the same category, but it's still a hell of a thing to say about your kids.
Jon Elder@BlackLabelAdvsr

Gen Z is drowning in $500 car payments, student loans, $20 avocado toast, luxury apartment rent, and unnecessary travel expenses. Yet, they whine about how hard life is. They have a spending problem. They just don’t want to admit it. Normalize eating rice and beans.
