@CTVNews The vast majority of addicts don’t get addicted because they took a prescription for pain and got hooked as they’d have you believe. The either have trauma or a previous addiction issue. Psychiatric help is needed. Stop demonizing opiates and refusing needed pain meds.

@DennisRoxPod let me know when you do a podcast with people who experienced trauma, pain, abuse etc.. and chose NOT to be an addict. I will tune in and share 100%

@DennisRoxPod perhaps instead of focusing on victimhood, you should talk to people who achieved success under the same circumstances. Ever think of that? Society just wants to focus on enabling and funding. It's insane.

Pain? Have you ever thought that we as humans are always looking for ways to minimize and avoid pain? It happens to be that drugs, alcohol, food and many other things in life have this intrinsic effect on the human psyche to slow the pain down, minimize it for the moment? Your blanked statement "society just needs to understand this and stop making excuses" is a very uneducated take Arlene. You should start listening to our podcast if your arrogance allows it, it can help broaden your view and help rid you of the anger I'm sensing.
