France froze gas prices for 365 days of 2022. In Norway the state covers 90% of households’ extra electricity charges. In the UK your bills have gone up 85% this year alone, 140% from March ‘21. It’s rip off UK.

@DavidGl54082417 @BeckettUnite It’s actually 3 of the top 6 are British owned. British Gas, Octopus/Bulb and OVO. They have c. 50% residential market share. The 3 foreign owned suppliers E.ON, EDF and Scottish Power have c. 38%. The remaining supply is from small British suppliers.

@DavidGl54082417 @BeckettUnite Wrong! France owns 1 UK supplier. Ofgem reports it has an 11% residential market share. Suppliers have made large supply losses in 2022 because the wholesale price they pay for gas and electricity is higher than the price they can charge (due to Ofgem’s cap to protect consumers).

@BeckettUnite 😆 Who owns the majority of UK suppliers? That's right France It's easy to subsidise your own countries gas prices when you can fleece your British customers to do it . How did they manage that as thatcher put safeguards in place to stop foreign buyout? Labour removed them

@beisgovuk Our company’s gas bill went up from £80,000 a year to £260,000 a year when we signed a new fixed contract in March 2022. We will be excluded from this scheme by the arbitrary start date of 1st April. Prices went up following the invasion on 24/2/22. Why isn’t that the start date?
