When the market breaks to the upside and goes completely nuts it’s seen as ok and normal because pretty much everyone makes money from it. When the market moves lower and dumps hard it’s seen as not ok because majority lose money. It’s not the price action that’s different it’s the emotions they create. One is euphoria the other is depression. I can show you many times the market pumped way harder than what has happened in recent weeks but nobody complains about that. Smashing through multiple key swing points and nobody says a thing apart from “fuck you higher” and “have fun staying poor”. When the market presents you with exhaustion at key levels such as a higher time frame divergence between price and momentum, the levels that held the market up prior such as a moving average will likely fail because buyers/sellers aren’t as willing as they were before to be aggressive and step in. Something has changed and the market recognises this. Price will likely move into the higher time frame relative to the one you’re looking at and retest that moving average instead which is just a deeper move into a discount/premium zone of the timeframe you’re looking at.
