***INCIDENT SUMMARY*** AFD & @AlamedaCoFire HazMat Team have identified the unknown substance as Bear Spray. The residual substance has been neutralized and residents have been allowed to return home. Alameda Police is conducting an investigation. Santa Clara Ave is now OPEN.

***UPDATE*** AFD and @AlamedaCoFire HazMat Team remain on scene while attempting to identify an unknown substance within the Apartment Building. The remainder of the building is being evacuated out of precaution. Santa Clara Ave remains CLOSED between Webster & 8th St. #Alameda
