@tirii_f1 Yes, just remember that McLaren gifted Max a lot of points; it's not like he got those 104 on his own. He said he needed a miracle to get into the fight, and McLaren granted it to him. He didn't give up and took every opportunity, but circumstances matter too.

Max was 104 points behind after Hungary last year. He never spoke about anyone's to loose. He believed he fould do and at the end did overturn the 104 but lost by 2 points to the other Papaya .. There is an F1 driver mentality, then there is a great F1 driver mentality then there is a Goat of F1 mentality. It's never over until the fat lady sings 🤝🏿

🗣️ "Pressure's off. Go out, enjoy every single race." George Russell walked away from the Canadian GP with no points - and thinks the title now looks like a very long shot:

@MaxV1MarcM93 Hmm, isn't that something drivers often say? Max said he was miles behind Leclerc after being 46 points adrift. They say it in the heat of the moment and out of frustration, so why take it seriously?

@MercedesAMGF1 The admin's back, just to post about Kimi's win!! Hahaha. Funny how they didn't dedicate a single post to George's consecutive pole positions, they only shared the F1 one. And nothing against Kimi, the problem here is you guys!

@cjforaka12 But it's not a lie, Max's crash benefited Kimi; it gave the team time to finish preparing the car. It was very likely he wouldn't have made it out. He's had a bit of luck, except for Miami. But Kimi has done incredibly well and has taken full advantage of every opportunity.

@theojude7 @georgesrussells I didn't see any whooped; they were very evenly matched, with similar paces, so the victory could have gone to either of them. It came down to who made fewer mistakes or their pit strategy.

@alexaolvera @georgesrussells no point arguing with a PR63 fan they cry and moan just as much as him and act like he’s a god and when he got his ass whooped by Antonelli on his best track of the year

@alexaolvera i think we just view this differently then because i dont think "gifted win" is as offensive for me as it is for you in a dnf scenario like this. i also dont think the chances were 50/50 knowing the driver george is.

@georgesrussells They had the same pace. In my opinion, Kimi was faster, but I still think he didn't have the win guaranteed without the DNF. George was defending so well. The both made almost the same mistakes; whoever made the most mistakes or due to pit strategy would lose.

@georgesrussells It doesn't change the fact that you're saying he was gifted the victory. George could have won, but Kimi had the same pace; the chance of winning was 50/50. It's not arrogance; the guy is confident, and that's not wrong, And I'd actually like to see George become champ this year.

@alexaolvera its very clear that my tweet isnt about the win being gifted but his arrogance and what he said after winning, you very conveniently is ignoring the point.

@weraugoing The guy is confident, what's wrong with that? I hope George gets another chance, but you all need to stop this unnecessary hate. Everything you wish on Kimi seems to be happening to George. It's better to do it quietly.

@georgesrussells So many times others have dismissed George's victories because he's always "lucky," and now you're doing the same thing to Kimi. He's just doing his job. I feel bad for George because he could have won yesterday, but seriously, stop doing this. It's just bad vibes for George.

I want to make a casual GC for GR fans. We can root for him without being toxic cult members. If you want to participate or be a member, engage with me somehow (comment here or DM). Again I don’t care for toxicity or cult, just a cool space for likeminded fans to come together

@thef1diplomat @fortifoursi Do you think George strained his battery/engine by battling Kimi and that's why it shut down? I know very little about it and I'm curious, because I still believe George could have won.

@fortifoursi Kimi had issues into the hairpin too, while he was ahead. Literally had identical lockup. Makes me think it was just a deployment/setup issue since both of them had identical slip ups at identical parts of track

I get that because of George’s DNF, Kimi basically won the race by default because he was unchallenged, but there are too many people acting like George was guaranteed the win when he wasn’t. It would have come down to who got the last overtake or locked up the least lol

@MercedesAMGPCF1 They should leave Kimi out of this narrative; he's just doing his job. There's no sabotage, but the team's incompetence in not fully fixing the car in three out of five races is just too much. And he's had some bad luck, of course, but something isn't working in that garage.

Completely understand the frustration right now, it is immense, and it’s a completely natural reaction. I feel for George just as much as many of us and the entire team do, and it’s truly painful to see. At the same time, genuinely happy for Kimi and his performance. However, I would like to kindly ask everyone to move away from the narrative that 'the team is sabotaging George in favor of Kimi'. That is simply not true. Mercedes does not operate this way, nor will they ever. The team respects and values both drivers equally, ensuring that both have the exact same opportunity to fight for wins(& WDC). Spreading rumours of sabotage is not only false, but also harmful to the spirit of 'our community'. Unfortunately, George has had some tough luck in the recent races, but the championship is far from over. George is a true leader, and I have no doubt that his fortunes will turn around. At the end of the day, we are "one team". George and Kimi are both Mercedes drivers. Let’s strive to be kinder to one another and keep the focus on what unites us rather than creating division. We are all on the same side.🩶🌟

@F1Clapped McLaren gifted Max a lot of points, he had good luck in some races, and they fixed the car. You're right, George has time, but if the car continues to have problems, it will be difficult for him to recover, and need AKA to have some bad luck, now everything has gone his way.

If Verstappen can claw back 102 points of a needed 104 points in a car that was 2nd best of the season, all of this post summer break too btw Then surely George can lock in and claw back 43 points with ONLY 5 races in. No idea why he’s saying the things he is, lock in or lose. There’s no other competition other than his own teammate.

@Kenzkayz It's not sabotage, but it is incompetence on the part of the team not to be able to fix the car; it's been having problems since China. And their race engineer isn't much help; even in that respect, they're at a disadvantage compared to the veteran Bono.
