@TheKanter @realmemes6 @dylan522p I think we've had a similar (if not quite as dramatic) slowing in spinning disk storage price as well. Hopefully these physics limits don't also hamper SSD, CPU, and GPU advances as well, but I don't see how every aspect of micro/nano-lithography wouldn't be impacted

After 25 years of DRAM cost dropping 90% every 3 years, we stayed at the same price for 9 YEARS. DRAM should have gotten 1,000x cheaper. But it stayed the same price. Lack of competition or laws of physics? h/t @dylan522p

@itskyleconner That is certainly a compromise on departure angle! But you can fit a lot of packs of Costco toilet paper in the back!

@scottjohnson If he really wanted to see whether people prefer theaters or streaming he would release his next movie simultaneously on both, then actually let the audience choose

NYTimes airhead @ezraklein: "Clean, abundant energy is the foundation on which a more equal, just and humane world can be built." Two points: 1. Wind power made the trans-Atlantic slave trade possible. 2. Modern 'clean' energy has been a disaster. nytimes.com/2023/01/08/opi…

@NotPatrick You have an interesting perspective on Edgerunners being a big anime fan who already knows the best and worst of that genre, and you both speak Japanese, and have lived in Japan

That sounds a bit harsh; it wasn’t bad, but it did end up failing in a lot of what it could have been IMO. (A lot but not all, there are good things). The dubbing bugged me a LOT though. It is very very much written in Japanese, and that never works 100% translated. Ah well.

A bit disappointed by Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I admit I wasn’t too keen and only watched it bc so many people said it was great, but while it was better than I expected, I felt very let down by the last couple of eps. Which I would summarize as “same old Japanese anime bullshit”.

We're about to release a 20th anniversary edition of something I did (and it's quite good). Some of you already know, and if you already know, reply with <>. Everyone else: I'd love to hear your guesses about what I did 20 years ago that merits a very special re-release.
