Lawyers. If you're going to use chatgpt to research, at least run the cites through westlaw and see if they exist. On long briefs I'll use chatgpt AFTER the brief is written to check for grammar and to cite check. Not often, but occasionally, it will tell me a key case stands for the opposite proposition I cited it for. That's a pretty important find...if true. Guess what? It's never true. AI is a tool to get to the destination. It is not the destination.

This is so on brand for the USA - "we don't recognise your competence ICJ (because Nicaragua, Reagan) and we are going to ignore Art 63 - I wonder if they realise new rules no longer guarantees participation at oral arguments?

This is why the ICC has issued arrest warrants for both Hamas leaders (who were subsequently killed) and Benjamin Netanyahu. I want to note: In December, Israel recognised Somaliland statehood at the UN (backed by USA). Consider that in light of the illegal war in Iran.

Iceland's very recent recognition of the competence of the ICJ makes a lot of sense now that they have filed into the South African genocide (and Apartheid case) against Israel's illegal, ongoing occupation, aparthied conditions and war crimes in Palestine.
