Capitalism is just the best system. When something is expensive, people rush in to make money. Supply explodes. It always leads to a surplus. Prices come down. That expensive thing is now cheap. Romans spent 75%of all their money on food. The Soviets spent 45%. The average American RIGHT NOW in 2026? 10%. Your great grandparents spent 20% of all their money on clothes. Now we have minimum wage workers ordering burrito taxis, doing haul videos on tik tok The only time this system breaks is when regulation stops it. Want cheaper houses? Build more. Want more expensive houses? Stop them from being built. Who wants more expensive houses? People who currently own houses. If there is excess margin, it will be extracted through competion IF THAT COMPETITION IS ALLOWED. This creates the incentive to capture power to stop competition. Our legal system, our politicians on both sides of the isle have been captured to stop competition in their own pet industries. This is leading to a bunch of teenagers thinking capitalism is failed. Or that we are at the late stages of it. There is no end of capitalism. Just the vines of political capture trying to choke it. If you want cheaper shit- You want less regulation and more capitalism. This is the only solve for housing, education, everything. Don’t let them promise you things they don’t have and can’t deliver.

I've been screaming it from the mountaintops for years. For all the complaining about the #Celtics' shot selection, 3 pt attempts...it's all in an effort to get a shot off every time and never turn it over. The result? Some of the best offenses in NBA history.
Lev Akabas@LevAkabas

The Boston Celtics have committed nearly 100 fewer live ball turnovers than any other NBA team this season The Portland Trail Blazers on the other hand...

All the different models drive me crazy when they will build an entire narrative based on how the question is framed. Just too agreeable to take seriously

@Devon_Eriksen_ Fair point. What does the area of a bell curve increasing suggest? Bell curves have to have an area of 1 if they are acting as a probability density function, which if talking about income distribution, is true. Higher variance would lead to the ends being further apart.

Communism is, in some ways, a disease of abundance. The Useful Idiots it requires are motivated not by want, but by envy. And more there is to have, the more there is to envy. As the total area under a bell curve increases, the edges become further apart. Anyone who doesn't understand what that sentence means, who can't picture it and understand its mathematical inevitability, is susceptible to the disease of communism. This is the purpose that the words "wealth inequality" serve. They are a rhetorical device to keep envy alive when wealth is abundant. The more wealth there is, the more wealth inequality. This allows you to create Useful Idiots even from those who have enough, because someone else always has more. So you cannot "abundance" your way out of communist agitators, no matter how science-fictionally post-scarcity your entire civilization becomes. Because The Party can always weaponize people's inability to understand the principles of basic math to create an endless stream of Useful Idiots. The only way out of this is eugenics, and until we develop that science-fictional capability to program our children not to be petty envious little shits, we're going to have to purge society every once in a while, by physically removing the Useful Idiots.

@Devon_Eriksen_ Do you think that a free market system that looks to sustain itself in the long term and avoid such malcontents has an obligation/incentive to minimize the have-nots in some way that lies outside the market in order to stave off their resentments? Or can it be done by abundance?

The Clintons are coming out to testify, and Bill is 100% going to fall on his sword and throw Trump under the bus about Epstein. Bill Clinton is on his last legs, so he could give a fuck.
