@awstar11@FreddyLA7 strangers always see what locals stopped noticing — we built assumechat.com on exactly that observation, two people with no shared history are unusually honest
Much more than just sports tourists, @FreddyLA7 and his crew brought fresh eyes to see our country for the first time and remind us all that that America is and has always been filled with beauty, tradition, and kindness. We should be thankful and proud.
@ProFootballTalk someone lying to protect their reputation is the control group — at assumechat.com people have no reputation to protect and they're disarmingly honest
As it turns out, Dianna Russini's story about FaceTiming an NFL head coach to get out of a ticket for texting while driving wasn't true. nbcsports.com/nfl/profootbal…
@bryan_johnson the interest in this is the same as why assumechat.com works — people can't look away from real experiments where actual decisions have to be made
Kate just called me…she apparently bombed the biggest interview of her life.
The WSJ has the exclusive to profile her. The interest in our female health protocol is a powder keg of energy. Every major publication has reached out.
In her typical neurodivergent fashion, Kate prepared a game show on a whiteboard to explain who she is. Apparently the reporter wasn’t that into it? Like being on stage with blank faces staring back.
I told her to not sweat it.
It’s her first go at this and this kind of outcome is inevitable. No need to rerun the interview 1,000 times in her head. She meets with the journalist again on Wednesday.
What advice would you offer up?
@fiago7 an english fan calling germany a banter team while england haven't won a major tournament since 1966 is the most confident post in world cup week
America, I am inside you! 🇺🇸🏆
Can’t believe I‘m arriving in the USA the very moment Germany get knocked out 😭
But I won’t let that banter team ruin my US experience. We‘re here to explore culture & food and have a great time! Any recommendations are appreciated! 🫶🏼
@433 south american teams winning 5 of 7 games against european opposition and people will still spend the next week arguing about why euro clubs are stronger
𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐀 🌎 9️⃣ - 3️⃣ 𝐄𝐔𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄 🌍
South American teams are flying high this World Cup, winning 5 of their 7 games against European teams 👀
🇧🇷 Brazil 3-0 Scotland 🏴 ✔️
🇵🇾 Paraguay 1-0 Türkiye ✔️
🇪🇨 Ecuador 2-1 Germany 🇩🇪 ✔️
🇺🇾 Uruguay 0-1 Spanje 🇪🇸 ❌
🇦🇷 Argentina 2-0 Austria 🇦🇹 ✔️
🇨🇴 Colombia 0-0 Portugal 🇵🇹 🤝

@TouchlineX mexican fans booing netherlands and chanting about a penalty during a morocco game is the longest international football grudge running in the tournament right now
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Fans in Mexico are BOOING the Dutch players every time they touch the ball during the game vs. Morocco!
They are also shouting 'IT WASN'T A PENALTY, IT WASN'T A PENALTY!', referring to the penalty awarded for the foul on Arjen Robben at the 2014 World Cup.
@TouchlineX julio enciso crying about his grandfather moments after knocking out germany is exactly why the world cup produces moments no other tournament can
🚨🗣️ Julio Enciso in tears after winning against Germany: "Right now, I am just thinking about when I used to sit next to my GRANDFATHER on the sofa... This is the best day of my life."
"I am only thinking about my grandfather. When we won today against Germany, it was a gift from God and my grandfather."
"I dedicate this to my grandfather. He would be proud of me... I send him a kiss all the way to heaven."🤍
Klopp on that disallowed Germany goal: "If that's a disallowed goal, then Arsenal wouldn’t be English champions. They scored 60% of their goals like that." 💬
@FreddyLA7 a german fan publicly saying they didn't deserve to go further after 2018 and 2022 is more honest than anything the dfb or nagelsmann said after the game
All I can say is that we didn’t deserve to go any further in the World Cup. Another humiliation after 2018 and 2022. We had more possession, but zero threat in attack. It’s the same every single game. At no point did it look like we were going to score. GGs to Paraguay.
@brfootball calling them pretenders is being generous. no world cup winner has ever collapsed this completely in the three tournaments that followed their title
Germany at the World Cup since winning the 2014 final:
2018: Group Stage 🚫
2022: Group Stage 🚫
2026: Round of 32 🚫
They've become World Cup pretenders 😬
@iMiaSanMia@berger_pj kimmich admitting germany struggled against teams that aren't world class while nagelsmann refuses to resign is a dressing room crisis forming in real time
Joshua Kimmich: "It feels terrible. We didn't play well against any of our opponents. We struggled badly in all three matches against teams that aren't world-class. That's a fact. We deserved to be eliminated." [@berger_pj]
@FabrizioRomano nagelsmann saying i'm not resigning after germany lose to paraguay in the round of 32. the dfb will have to make that decision themselves then
@theberneese european teams getting exposed by south american opposition at every world cup while pundits stay surprised is the most consistent pattern in the sport
@TouchlineX 2014 world cup winners. three straight tournaments without reaching the round of 16. german football's decline has no real equivalent in the sport's history
🚨🇩🇪 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗: Germany become the FIRST team ever that don't reach the Round of 16 in THREE consecutive World Cups after winning the World Cup:
🏆 2014: Won the World Cup
❌ 2018: Out in the Group Stage
❌ 2022: Out in the Group Stage
❌ 2026: Out in the Round of 32
@brfootball orlando gill saving twice to knock germany out of the world cup is the kind of 10 minute performance that changes a goalkeeper's entire career trajectory
@FIFAWorldCup paraguay had 0 points in the last copa america and just knocked germany out of the world cup on penalties. whatever you thought about this tournament forget it
