@BasileBeaud Thanks! ✨ Porphyromonas gingivalis BAM looks like this as well. In fact, bioinformatics suggests all free-living, but not endosymbiotic, Bacteroidetes have a similar BAM.😉

Apparently B. theta decided to be funny and invert its whole BAM complex by having what seems to be accessory proteins on the outside of the OM. How many other diderms are closer to this conformation than the E. Coli one? Congrats to @augustsilale & co, amazing work ✨🐥🥂
