I'm one of the 5K people watching Artemis II live broadcast. I hope it's a bug and the number is much larger (or that there are other channels with more viewers). artemis2.live/live

@l_u_n_a13 Of course, it's a choice future us will have. Some will reject, some will embrace. Either way, it will be weird to our current eyes.

@l_u_n_a13 So we agree on change. Speed is a different factor we can discuss.

@l_u_n_a13 Evolution is far too slow. Also, meat does travel well in space. We'll have to morph or be cargo.

@authorsol We’ve changed a lot since nature’s hostilities many of us at least were not in the thick of it anymore

@l_u_n_a13 Our biology and psychology were designed to survive nature's hostility. Take that away, add unlimited possibilites (thanks to tech/biotech), and you get something very very different.

58 years of 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟭: 𝗔 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗢𝗱𝘆𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆. I grew up on this movie and always looked for the HAL 9000 moment. Now that we're way past it, what's a good "Singularity moment" movie?

Artemis II astronauts are doing great. The Orion spacecraft is performing well in an impressive elliptical orbit, and the @NASA_Johnson Mission Control team is taking good care of the crew. Meanwhile, back at @NASAKennedy, the teams are out at the pad getting ready for what comes next. We are going to get into a rhythm of launching Moon rockets around here 🇺🇸

I believe we are the only sentient life in the galaxy. We have not seen any convincing proof to the contrary. However, this does not make me despondent, it actually makes me hopeful. I believe we are destined to seed the galaxy with intelligence. It is our purpose.

We're going around the Moon. Come watch with us. Artemis II's four-astronaut crew is lifting off from @NASAKennedy on an approximately 10-day mission that will bring us closer to living on the Moon and Mars. The launch window opens at 6:24pm ET (2224 UTC). twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…
