ESPN sources: Giants All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence has requested a trade and he will not be participating in the team’s off-season workout program that opens Tuesday.
Lawrence and the Giants have been through two off seasons attempting to negotiate a contract reflecting his value to the Giants over the last three years, but there has not been any progress, per sources.

I try to be optimistic – as in, the offseason isn't over. There is still time to add some key pieces. Bucs still have the draft, can explore post-draft FA.
But at heart, I'm a realist. So far, this offseason is a disaster. I don't see how the Buccaneers have gotten better – yet.

@gregauman I’m eagerly awaiting Licht coming out and saying he was aggressive in making offers but Edges turned him down. Prob bc they don’t want to learn Bowels complicated scheme which can negatively impact a players future value. Unfortunately we will never hear those truths.

Should see the remaining edge rushers get lined up quickly today. Chaisson had quite a turnaround in 2025 with New England.

This almost has the feel of a quiet tank. Bucs lose Hall of Fame WR, No. 1 CB, starting d-lineman & may still lose Lavonte David. Still no edge. (Hello?) Bucs did get an OK ILB and a backup RB. How's your Tuesday night going? (It's very hard not to be cynical now).

@gregauman Fair point Greg but I wouldnt push it off the radar. The fans' displeasure in Bowels coaching &management, Licht's recent questionable (or lack of) moves, is prob not too far of Evans perspective, as he was a fan of the team too. Ultimately Glazers need to look in the mirror.

We won't ever know this, but Bucs could have fired Bowles and/or Licht and Evans might still see a need to make a change, seeing how much is new and unknown around him in Tampa.

@EMT_Ashlie I dont see us signing him. He has an overinflated value for himself given his age and recent injuries. Chiasson might be a better/younger option. Given what we're seeing Licht needs to hit a grand slam in the draft. Right now Dan Morgan looks like a GM and Licht a Boy Scout.

@TKras So Mike chose 3 years for $60.4 mill - $20mm a year paying Cali taxes and catch passes from Purdy. I find it hard to believe Bucs couldnt match $20mm a year. I'm no expert but this seems like it came down to Shanahan vs Bowels and who he'd rather go to war with.

@gregauman Right. Would have to start by restructuring Wirfs, Goedeke and Winfield. But these moves should immediately put us in the contender category. Would have to still get some LB, Edge and OL depth in the draft.
