I have attended @narendramodi_in rallies in 2013, 2021 & yesterday. The dynamics of each of these gatherings were different. But in terms of sheer numbers, yesterday’s rally was by far the largest gathering. Political opponents of the BJP should focus on other issues & not the size of the Brigade Parade Grounds event.

BREAKING: Emergency Meeting in Tollywood. The overall business condition of Bengali films this year in Tollywood is poor. Meanwhile, when cinema halls give priority to Bengali films, Hindi film distributors in some cases are not providing support. In this situation, some cinema hall owners have sent a letter to the Screening Committee. As a result, an emergency meeting has been called at the Eastern India Motion Picture Association (IMPA). The meeting has been scheduled for the 11th at IMPA House to discuss this issue and other related matters.

Just spoke at the 7th Globalised Education Forum in Kolkata (organised by ICC). As I have said before, AI and other digital technology has rendered the old lecture based university redundant. Universities will in future exist for research, testing knowledge absorption, and experiential learning (say labs), not lectures. Meanwhile, we have the opportunity to make tertiary education available on tap at very low cost. The 19th century university is dead; long live the university!!

A new road to be built connecting South Kolkata to Sec V/New Town that will decongest Chingrighata crossing. A narrow unpaved road existed connecting Basanti Highway to Mahisbathan meandering through the EKW - now the same will be widened and paved. Once complete, the 7 km road to be constructed by NDITA will provide easy access to the EM Bypass adjoining residents of South Kolkata, reducing the travel time to Sec V/New Town.

the arrange marriage system is so messed up. one of my friend is having a good salary >40lpa, she is tall ~5.8 so it was difficult for her to get a groom who is both earning at least like her and height like her. Neglecting the salary factor she married a guy who was earning ~30% less than her. But after marriage that guy had problem with everything about her, he wanted her to cook along with job, he wanted her to shift to his location(which earlier was decided that the guy will move) and for that she had to quit her job for which she worked hard. Long story short she tried everything to keep her marriage but eventually they are getting divorced as they are never on the same page. This happened 2 months into the marriage! That’s why knowing the person you are getting married to is very important. Their family rushed before marriage and they hardly spoke for 6 months in which they met only twice and the communication was less as everything they were talking was about wedding stuff!

The World Bank has approved financing for the West Bengal Health System Reform Program Operation to improve the quality of life and life expectancy in West Bengal through wider, more equitable access to quality healthcare with a $286 million loan. This will support the delivery of personalized healthcare services across the state for people aged 30 and above through digital tracking of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension and diabetes. In the five districts of Purulia, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Malda, and Uttar Dinajpur, the program will improve access to quality healthcare services and reduce inequities in maternal and adolescent health. The loan has a final maturity of 16.5 years, including a three-year grace period.
