Why does helping a random stranger online sometimes feel like you've just unlocked a massive moral high score… yet helping your actual family or close friends often feels like unpaid emotional labor you never signed up for?
A while back, one of my friends wanted to launch this philanthropy project. He planned to give money to people in need and help the less fortunate, but he was camera-shy, so he asked a few of us(his close friends) to basically be the public faces of the movement.
But here's the thing: right there among us were people struggling hard. One friend was behind on rent, another couldn't even restock basic food at home, and someone else was stuck with a barely functional phone. I wasn't trying to sound entitled, but come on! how do you ask me to go online publicly giving away money to strangers when I'm grinding just to keep my own life together?
I got really upset, though I kept it to myself at the time. Eventually, I quietly stepped away from the whole thing. But even now, thinking back, it still hurts that he could see and care so much about strangers who needed help… yet somehow overlook (or dodge) the very real struggles of the people closest to him, including family and friends who were literally asking for basic support.
That contrast still stings.

If my fine wife fails to contribute to the home even when she is beyond capable to do so… Then she hates me.
I will simply find another fine wife willing to contribute to the home.
Life is really not as complex as you people make it seem.
Nobody has a spare life.

Bro, you can't be serious. How will your fine wife be contributing.

Korean dramas will lecture you about careers like a child… a whole lot goes on behind the scenes before the filming itself…
HR Sis@seyithemie
I actually love how Korean dramas fully immerse you in the careers they portray. The processes feel real, the terminology is accurate, and there are always subtle lessons woven in. You’re entertained and learning at the same time.

I hear that she died from the pain.
Is this true?
Zenom@TheZenomHayab
The woman that sat on the floor holding her dead son to her chest and talking to him has to be the most painful thing to watch.
