Let me wade into the great European air conditioning debate with a fact that is going to sting.
Europeans love to say they do not need AC because they live so far north. Let us test that.
The 49th parallel is the long straight line that forms the US and Canada border. Paris sits at about 48.8 degrees north. Which means Paris is slightly SOUTH of the US-Canada border.
Read that again. Other than Alaska, the entire United States sits below the 49th parallel. The whole country. Every state in the lower 48 is, broadly speaking, south of Paris.
So when a Parisian tells me Americans are soft for having air conditioning, I would gently note that they are living at the latitude of Manitoba and still somehow sweating through July.
And here is the kicker. I live just outside Seattle, about as far north as you can get in the lower 48, and even Seattle sits SOUTH of Paris. We get hot. It does get hot here. And yes, I have air conditioning, and I use it without a shred of guilt.
Which brings me to Brussels.
I once stayed in a Brussels hotel with no air conditioning during a heat wave. My room hit 91 degrees. That is 33 Celsius for my metric friends. I lay there at 2am, naked as the day I was born, slowly soaking through the mattress like a rotisserie chicken left out in the sun, contemplating my life choices and the architectural war crime of a hotel that thought windows were a cooling system.
There is no nobility in suffering. There is just sweat.
The only person on this earth who genuinely does not need air conditioning is Santa Claus.
The rest of you are just being stubborn.
Write that down. Preferably somewhere cool. 🦋

@compliantvc Hahahahahahahahaha…. I love this app….. Hahahahaha

@Coffee_Cheikh Americans go outside during the summer . We’re used to the heat and extreme weather because that’s our norm. We adapted our homes and way of living so we can live comfortably.

@JackDunc1 Let’s be honest….. she’s not the stupid cunt right Jack?

@barstoolsports @MacrodosingPod @PFTCommenter @VivaLaStool This US team is the best US team I have seen in my 50 years, but they cannot beat France or Argentina. If the US keeps this style of play and investment in US Football they can win the cup in the next 2 world cups.

@badil_beba @lennythfc wow! that is even worst LOL... but good for you, stay there please!
English

@frenchxican_in @lennythfc lol I have lived in various parts of this world. I’ve traveled to many countries. I am a proud immigrant to the US and unequivocally the US is the greatest country on earth.
English

@badil_beba @lennythfc Again... in which alternative reality? lol you sound like you have never been out of your country, so its ok, you just have no idea of what the world looks like.
English

@sapphyreblayze @angeertsen This is a complete lie. No one is denied medical care in the US. You have no idea what it’s like to live in the US.
English

@angeertsen What about all the people in America who die because they can't afford healthcare? Do you genuinely think that's a better system or is it just a matter of "I got mine, fuck you".

@REVERSAL7x Tips guarantee prompt and polite service. Most servers will make more than a European server that is guaranteed an hourly wage. Tax is included it’s itemized at the end because each city has a different tax rate. Guns guarantee our freedom.
English

Maybe try paying your employees a better salary???
As a European the 3 things I loathe about the USA:
- Tipping Culture
- Tax NOT included in the price
- Guns
Dexerto@Dexerto
World Cup fans haven't been tipping in the United States, and restaurants are fighting back They're now adding 20% to bills automatically, as visitors aren't used to tipping culture and staff had to explain it's expected

@frenchxican_in @lennythfc Yes we have good quality food. Our food is amazing. Our country is amazing. 🇺🇸

How sweet of them! Was this before or after they started enslaving, raping and slaughtering the Christians?
Clash Report@clashreport
Theologian JD Hall to Tucker Carlson: The Muslim rulers didn't tax churches during the Ottoman period. They were very kind to Christians. As a matter of fact, they took care of our holy sites. Islamic authorities rebuilt the Church of the Holy Sepulchre three different times over the centuries. They had a law protecting Christian pilgrims on their journey. Nobody messed with the pilgrims.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
This Friday, people across Gaza will take to the streets in what is expected to be one of the largest anti-Hamas protests ever.
In response, Hamas militias have begun targeting activists — including women — threatening them and their families. They have also launched smear campaigns labeling activists as "traitors," creating fears that these accusations could later be used as a pretext to persecute, imprison, or even execute them.
This is a plea to pro-Palestine voices, human rights organizations, journalists, and everyone who genuinely cares about the Palestinian people:
Stand with the brave people of Gaza. Support their right to express their views, speak freely, and protest without fear of violence or retaliation.
We also call on human rights organizations, international observers, and the media to closely monitor these events, as concerns continue to grow over threats against protesters and Hamas militias' promises to crush those who participate in the demonstrations.
The people of Gaza deserve to have their voices heard.
