I've been thinking about what makes an NFT collection worth collecting.

A friend who has shipped Unity games for a decade asked me last week how hard it would be to put something onchain.

I’ve been thinking about @RobinhoodApp Chain since it went live yesterday. The launch itself isn’t what caught my attention. What caught my attention is that Robinhood now controls the entire stack distribution, wallet, blockchain infrastructure, and increasingly the assets users interact with. That’s a very different strategy from what we’ve seen across crypto. For years, most L1s and L2s launched first and hoped users would come later. Robinhood already has roughly 28 million funded customers and is building the onchain infrastructure underneath them. That’s a much easier distribution problem to solve. The chain is built on @arbitrum Orbit, uses @chainlink for oracle and interoperability infrastructure, launched with protocols like @Uniswap, @MorphoLabs, @LayerZero_Core, @LidoFinance, @maplefinance and @ether_fi, and even subsidizes gas fees during the first 90 days to reduce onboarding friction. The part I’m watching most isn’t another EVM chain. It’s tokenized equities. If millions of @RobinhoodApp users begin trading tokenized stocks and using DeFi without thinking about bridges, wallets, or gas, that changes who crypto is built for. The technology is impressive. But technology won’t determine whether this succeeds. User migration will. If Robinhood can move even a small percentage of its existing customer base onchain, this could become one of the biggest distribution events we’ve seen for onchain finance.
