It doesn't detect mics. Also many traditional microphones are immune to their attack as they don't have the sensitivity to be effected by ultrasonic frequencies. Expect Alexa's and other devices to have microphone arrays in the near future, and they can easily XOR the stream differential.

Are you using time-frequency mosaic techniques? No matter what, I think it's very important to communicate to your customers that this is no silver bullet. Traditional diaphragm mics will not be effected by the ultrasonic audio stream. Also, I would expect differential microphone arrays to be included in coming devices like alexa. They will want the multiple mics just to pull voice commands from a noisy environment, let alone XORing the ultrasonic and speech audio streams. I still like your motivation. I like the idea of playing copyright music to prevent the audio from ending up on YouTube.

A new tool that could keep violent offenders from being released back into Texas communities. Under SB 1723, DPS’ Crime Laboratory Division established a two-year pilot program to explore the use of Rapid DNA technology at Texas booking facilities. Using this new technology, facilities can collect DNA samples from felony arrestees and determine if that person is connected to other cases nationwide in less than two hours. DPS began the pilot program in partnership with the Williamson Co. Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery Co. Sheriff’s Office back in September 2025 and will report our findings back to the Texas Legislature by January 2028.
