When I say "Jefferson was right" I am referring to his long-held, demonstrated, documented belief that peace should be secured through use of force after reasonable attempts to negotiate.
Against muslims. In the middle east.
From a letter to President John Adams, when Jefferson was in Europe trying to secure peace:
"However if it is decided that we shall buy a peace, I know no reason for delaying the operation, but should rather think it ought to be hastened. But I should prefer the obtaining it by war."

Jefferson was so angered by the "peace through tribute" actions of Adams that he (as Vice President) ran against his President and won the election. Then took military action to soundingly defeat the Barbary States.
Tolerating the free exercise of religion of choice was his lifelong belief. That tolerance ended, with Marines and warships, when muslims started acting like uncivilized barbarians.
In our time, we have built the tolerance of different religions into our society in ways that Jefferson never imagined. But we have forgotten that his beliefs and actions also included that there were limits, and the correct response to violent, antisocial, un American behavior is to respond harshly, immediately, and with enough force to prevent any other evildoers from even contemplating such actions.
So when I say "Jefferson was right" I mean to say "punish extremist muslims with extreme violence so as to convince the rest to not behave that way."
Some of you folks need a history lesson.
