i think the q of endorsement becomes easier when we think about agitation within the context of building hegemony — dsa should always be to the left of our elected officials but the gap between our demands and their platform becomes smaller as we draw more ppl into the movement

it’s counterintuitive but by growing out our base on the national scale through a potential aoc presidential campaign, i do think it’ll be easier to agitate as a collective towards a socialist program that would otherwise be difficult with a dem like newsom

To analyze it at the level of purported ‘fundamentals’ (the phenomenon stripped to its bare essentials, let’s say) is operating at a level of generality, in particular one that abstracts away from questions of ‘form’ (tactics, style, etc.) which I think are the real content of the difference between left and right accusations . Granting your wide definition, we’ve polemicized against that type of ‘sectarianism’ as well. In either case, both OOP and ‘right sectarianism’ (let’s call it that) are bad, sure
