Hosted my 8yo daughter’s birthday sleepover as a single mom. One girl (first sleepover, no heads-up) woke up at 1:30am crying, terrified, begging for her mom. I tried comforting her for a while but she was spiraling, so I called her mom to pick her up. Mom showed up annoyed and later texted that I should’ve “waited it out” till morning , now her daughter’s embarrassed and scared of future sleepovers. I wasn’t told this was her first time away from home, and I didn’t want to force a distressed kid to stay during my child’s party. Was I wrong for sending her home instead of staying up all night playing therapist? Single moms especially what would you have done?

My right ear is hurting so badly. Tried Sudafed. Tried Zyrtec. Poured some peroxide in. Still hurts. Still feels full. I’ll be damned if I’m breaking my “no doctor visits since 2019” over a friggin ear ache. The dizziness is annoying…and less than ideal. Thoughts?

I had a best friend who recently had a loss in their family. I'm feeding her cats while she is away. Would it be weird if I tidied up her apartment while I'm there? Not that it's dirty! She had to leave in a rush to catch a flight. So like wash the dirty dishes in the sink, wipe down the counters. That type of thing. I feel like if I lost a family member, coming back to a tidy home would take so much weight off my shoulders. Anonymous

The left thinks Californians are broken. They think we’ll just pack up, leave, or accept the decline. They’re wrong. There’s more Republicans here than any other state. Millions of us still believe this state can be saved. We finally got voter ID on the ballot for November, and it has REAL chance of passing. That could break the Democrats’ one-party stranglehold that’s wrecked this state, expose the fraud, and stop illegal immigrants from voting in our elections. A lot of people are sleeping on how big this is. I’m a Californian. I’m not fleeing to a red state. That’s what they want. I’m staying right here and fighting to Make California Great Again.

While better to find happiness in living human beings rather than material items… happiness still should not be looked for OUTSIDE OF YOURSELF. Happiness comes from WITHIN, from PEACE, from GOD. Having your happiness dependent on your children will destroy your peace when they act up, become drug addicts, die or disappoint you in a million different ways… 🙏🏼

My boss's boss is like 42, never married, no kids. Earns $275-300K per year. Goes on a minimum of two international vacations a year w/ his girlfriend. 10+ days, all out. Eats the best food, stays in top notch accomodations. Excursions, tours, nicest beaches, etc. Great guy, I'm happy for him. But what I've realized is that without kids, you end up chasing a lifestyle that has to continually be topped in order for you to be satisfied and find happiness. What he and others like him don't understand is that when you have children, seeing THEM experience life's most basic things and watching their eyes light up at all the "firsts", brings greater pleasure and joy than any vacation or travel experience ever could. Seeing THEM try blueberries for the first time is greater than dining at the best 5 star restaurant in Europe. Seeing THEM learn how to walk is greater than walking the Great Wall of China or strolling along the most picturesque beach. Watching THEM giggle uncontrollably at "peek-a-boo" tops any A-list comedian act. Seeing THEIR excitement when building a fort out of cardboard boxes and making a door big enough for daddy is superior to staying at 5-star resorts. Flying kites with THEM far outweighs excursions like parasailing or helicopter rides. Seeing THEM perform a recital on stage for the first time is more rewarding than watching a Broadway show or top notch symphony orchestra. ----------------- When you have children, all of a sudden you realize that life's greatest joys are not in the pursuit of things or pleasure or travel, but rather in the LOVE and bond you share with your very own image bearers. Seeing the beauty and magnificence and wonder of life all over again for the first time through THEIR eyes and expressions gives you something the world simply cannot offer, nor even come close.

California gets a bad rap — and a lot of it is earned thanks to the dumpster fire policies ruining our cities. But man, this state is still one of the most beautiful places on God’s green earth. I’ve lived here since 1993 and I’m not going anywhere. The weather is straight-up perfect. I can ski in the morning and hit the beach in the afternoon. The mountains, the coastline, the redwoods, the desert… it’s all here in one state. Big Sur, the Pacific Coast Highway, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and vineyards everywhere! History you can feel in the air. Beaches with that classic surfer vibe. Family happy, church strong, friends that feel like brothers. Yeah, the politics are a textbook case of what happens when one party runs things into the ground. But I’m staying and fighting for the California I love.
