@BigDaddyE3737 @BoltsDraftTalk Do you have any stats of his play declining?
English

@BoltsDraftTalk I would not. He didn’t play well last year and he wants another big contract.
English

Would you make the trade?

@Bad_Luck_BigRed @ItsYeyo95 @BrettKollmann Quite a leap you take there to support your straw man argument?
It would be a major fuck up if no starting guard is selected in the draft. They have locked themselves to that solution with he moves they have made. I also don't think Slater would be very happy moving inside.
English

@bolt_dk @ItsYeyo95 @BrettKollmann If there’s no solution at guard found in the first 3 rounds of the draft you think Cole Strange and Penning is cool for 18 weeks… bet
English

@Bad_Luck_BigRed @ItsYeyo95 @BrettKollmann So you are paying your guard top tackle money? Please use som critical thinking - lol 😂
English

@ItsYeyo95 @BrettKollmann Most teams couldn’t do it but this team employs another player who could be an even better LT in Joe Alt please try to use some creative, critical thinking

@cfcfan990_b @RyanWatkins20 I heat you.
Who is the LG in this scenario? How many swing tackles on the roster?

Schrager mocking Blake Miller to the Chargers after the top 30 visits for Caleb Lomu and Isaiah World (Both pure Tackle prospects) gets us to the point where we have to ask/answer questions I didn't think we'd have to address:
1) Should we be concerned that either Alt or Slater has a bad prognosis and we're going to lose one of them for next season or maybe beyond that?
2) Is there a possibility for Slater to kick inside to guard?
I've seen Fano and Freeling mocked to the Bolts too but from analysts without the insider information that Schrager receives.
I'm not prepared to write a whole analysis on the possible implications just yet but I think this amount of noise has surpassed the threshold for us to pay attention to these possibilities.
Peter Schrager@PSchrags
I do two mock drafts every year. One this week and one the week of the Draft. After weeks of conversations, here's what I've got. Have at it. espn.com/nfl/draft2026/… @espn @ESPNNFL
English

@cfcfan990_b @RyanWatkins20 Then you either pick a guard who can play tackle (Fano-dream) or you play Pipkins for a year at RT. You don't pick a tackle who can't play guard at #22, without trying Slater first in training camp + mby regular season.
English

@bolt_dk @RyanWatkins20 I'm sure the plan is tackle first but realistically you need to plan on Alt at LT because it's the safer move. The money is already spent, it is what it is.
English

@cfcfan990_b @RyanWatkins20 But paying a first time guard top of the market tackle money would also be pretty ludicrous. Not that they intended that, but at least try him out at tackle first.
English

@RyanWatkins20 Resigning Pipkins and the lack of a genuine signing at left guard makes a lot of sense if the plan was always to kick Slater to guard (or at least entertain the possibility during camp).
English

@StevenIHaglund I would interpret this pick as Slater moving to LG, Alt to LT, and Miller at RT. Moving a career RT inside to guard and to the opposite side would be a major projection and frankly insane.
I haven’t seen any evaluations projecting him to play guard.
English

@BigDaddyE3737 @StevenIHaglund The idea isn't a good one. It depends on Slaters abilities post injury.
In this mock draft, I'd much rather reach for Pregnon, Bisontis or Rutledge. But I have no inside information on Slater. We can all just hope he returns to form as a great tackle.
English

@bolt_dk @StevenIHaglund So they’re going to pay a first time Guard too of the market elite Tackle money?
English

@alexinsdorf99 I would interpret this pick as Slater moving to LG, Alt to LT, and Miller at RT. Moving a career RT inside to guard and to the opposite side would be a major projection and frankly insane.
English

In theory I get the idea of taking one of Miller/Proctor to kick them inside to guard + have tackle insurance.
But why am I taking that over Pregnon/Bisontis and having an NFL ready guard starter instead? I'm not getting that part.
Alex Insdorf@alexinsdorf99
Schrager goes with Clemson's Blake Miller in his first mock of the cycle.
English

@Top_flyt3 I still remember him being labeled as a 2-down run stopping NT with no pass rush upside as a prospect, lol.
English

Yea. One "down year" definitely warrants ignoring this 💩😂.

The Chargers' offseason has looked light on needle-moving acquisitions, but I think there's an understandable logic to it, if the plan is to use post-draft free agency as a supplementary tool to enable them to stick to their BPA board through the draft.

@BoltsDraftTalk Every team is going to want to take a flier on this guy, and a lot of fans are going to be disappointed 😅

@tylerjschoon Vega or Fano would be the dream and correct the course of this off-season. A trade-down Pregnon, Bisontis or Rutledge is good too.

@BigDaddyE3737 @BoltsDraftTalk My dream is Vega or Fano falling, but it most likely won't happen.
English

@BoltsDraftTalk Right now it’s either him, Woods or McDonald for me, but I could get behind Thieneman or a CB as well.

I'm a big believer in TJ Parker and his fit with the Chargers
