I’m still at this part btw. It may seem like Namjoon was struggling to put it in words. But he said it absolutely perfectly. That’s the thing about having hit such a dark and rock bottom place and then coming out of it. It never really actually goes away. And there will always be that tiny part of your heart that’s permanently affected from being rock bottom. And it’s funny seeing Namjoon say this today because I recently met up with a friend from my old life who I haven’t spoken to in over 3 years. The first thing he said to me when he saw me was “you look so different”. As we were catching up, we started talking about everything that happened to me, how I came out of it. And I so vividly remember telling him that just quitting wasn’t enough. I had to physically take myself out of that environment, my country and come all the way across the world here before I felt like I could really breathe again. Then he asked quietly, so is that it? Is that the secret to overcoming depression. Just get out of it physically and you’re fine. I told him no. There’s literally no secret to overcoming it. Because you don’t overcome it. You just come out of it. You find an opening and shed that encasing. And that shell that you leave behind, it stays in that corner. It doesn’t disintegrate, it doesn’t turn to dust. It just stays. And like Namjoon said, you will always feel that deep sorrow somewhere in your heart. That type of psychological hit is not something that goes away. But what does go away is that feeling of hopelessness and helplessness. And I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s plainly coincidental that I’ve had this conversation with a friend and then today I see Namjoon having almost the same conversation. So to say that this hit so hard is an understatement. It completely moved me right to tears. And my heart goes out to him because I understand. Probably not all of it but just that fraction of what he felt. I get it. And. When my friend said he was proud of me for coming out of it, I brushed past it. It didn’t feel like an accomplishment to be proud of. But now I get what he meant. Because I am so immensely proud of Namjoon for coming out of it and for being so raw in his honesty about it. Not many people are even capable of admitting what he admitted to themselves. Let alone on an interview that’s forever on the Internet for everybody to see.

So, before I left for Seoul last week, I received a really shocking news from my doctor. For a while, I sat in my car, I cried and I panicked, but that’s just how I process things, I suppose. I left for Seoul feeling resolute that I will not let this news snatch the wind from my sails. I wanted to see Bangtan, I wanted to see my precious seven and just for that beautiful moment with them, I wanted to forget about the reality that I have to face when I get back. But now I am back, and that reality will meet me in the form of a medical operation on my colon this coming weekend. First thing that came to mind was: Oh no, I’m gonna miss the live streamings in Tokyo Dome 😭 I’m so sad right now but I can’t help but think that if I feel this way, Bangtan will be like: Excuse me, ARMY, prioritise your health first and get well soon so that we can see each other soon 😤 But still, my heart is heavy, due to so many uncertainties. I can only hope for the best, so that I have more opportunities to be with Bangtan ❤️‍🩹💜
