Lately several of the “lesser culpable” Feeding our Future fraud defendants have been sentenced. Yusuf Bashir Ali received 18 months. He hasn’t been charged with autism fraud but worth noting that he founded an Autism center that has received *at least* $7 million in Medicaid money.

@BryanTweed16 He hit it 162 yards. He's one of the best players in the world and hits it the highest. I don't see how this was that difficult for him.

@Top100Rick I don't see how it was that hard or risky at all. He hit 162 yards. He can easily hit a 9 iron or wedge well over the trees with a little draw. He's never missing that shot.

Finally a cool view of Rory’s approach shot in 18! This shot was unreal good and risky, yet we didn’t get any context because the camera was out of position. I know he was wide right, but somehow you have to get a great down the line view for this.

28 years ago today, at 8am, Eric Meyer tapped a few keys on his laptop and launched Netflix to the world. By 10am we'd crashed the servers. By 2pm we'd run out of mailing labels and someone was making a run to Office Depot. By midnight we were sitting on the floor eating cold pizza, watching orders trickle in one at a time, half-convinced the whole thing was held together with duct tape. Which it was. Best day of my career.

BREAKING: A major fraud suspect in Minnesota flees the country days before his trial. Abdirashid Said was the top defendant in an $11 million racketeering PCA fraud case, the largest the MN Attorney General’s office has ever prosecuted. But he skipped town before a pretrial hearing this week.

Latest Feeding our Future guilty plea prevents Feds from prosecuting the defendant in any other case they are currently investigating. Gandi Mohamed has received at least $36 million in Medicaid reimbursements as well but hasn’t been charged with fraud in those programs.

Thought I was making the dumbest mistake of my life today when I requested an interview with Fred Couples after finishing his opening round at the Masters quad-double-double-par. To my surprise, Fred said yes, talked through every shot, and admitted he still had fun. Amazing

The Masters doesn’t need anything extra. It’s the most watched round in golf every year for a reason… let the golf speak for itself and don’t lose the core audience trying to chase something else. @wingoz

Augusta Diaries Thur: -Man, this course is haaarrddd haha. Personally, what I remember about watching the Masters as a kid are these runs of birdies coming in and the winner taking the trophy with birdies and eagles. But the other side is that the margins are so so tiny. The difference between a great shot and a horrible result is so so small. -Great ex is 3 today. You had to land a wedge in a 4 yard area to hit that green. I landed it too short and came off the green. Zach landed it a little too far and it’s over the green. Similar thing on 15, that green (especially being newer) is so firm, I didn’t hold the green landing the ball a foot past pin high. -The greens are quite firm but I never once thought it was out of control. It was a great set up and a set up with some really difficult pins. -Because the margins are so small, those little gusts have a profound effect on the results. A little off and you’re making bogey or double in a heartbeat.

Another day, another fraud suspect sentenced in Minneapolis Federal Court. Abdullahe Jesow didn’t exactly sound to me like he thought he did anything wrong. He said his biggest regret was asking a fellow fraudster for a loan!

Lot of talk about the UConn-Breeding “rivalry.” Let me tell you something. It’s only a rivalry because Breeding is one of the only officials that stands up to Hurley’s bullcrap. It’s why he’s the Referee on the National Championship Game. Breeding on my anytime, anywhere list. 👍🏻

It’s difficult to explain Combat Search And Rescue (CSAR), but I use my account to explain aviation & military in simple terms, so I’m going to try. To begin, CSAR is not just one unit. There are multiple specialized units among the different branches as well as units that serve this role as a secondary function. They can work independently or alone. These units may be entirely ground troops, or may operate helicopters & the HC-130 “Combat King”, used for various roles including dropping Pararescue troops (called “PJs” in the Air Force), air-refueling the helicopters, longer range communications as well as Command & Control. While the helicopters are armed, they will be accompanied by attack aircraft whenever possible. These became known as “Sandy” during the Vietnam War. The usual aircraft used today in a Sandy role is the A-10, but in theory the HC-130 can call in anyone around. Or everyone, including Bombers. When one of these missions becomes necessary, it takes precedence. The attack jets fly low near the downed crew. They protect both the crew & the helicopter during a rescue, engaging any targets that appear & talking to the downed crew when it’s possible. A tanker may be directed to loiter nearby to support them for as long as this takes (they can’t refuel from the HC-130). When a crew goes down, their extensive training kicks in. Aircrew attend a long training course known as “Survival, Evasion, Resistance & Escape (SERE – better known as Survival School) as part of qualification. It teaches them how to evade an enemy & deal with being captured. I won’t go into detail, but it’s a long month+ of training & you’re very happy when it’s done. You’ll get refresher training periodically. In addition, the pilots are armed & equipped with special radios that can transmit their position. Several survival items are packed into the parachute on each mission & available once they reach the ground. Back at HQ, extreme measures can be taken to locate & support downed personnel. I won’t go into detail, but if they need to use a satellite to find you, they can. In any event, combat sorties are dangerous. The CSAR troops are a comfort to those who have to fly these missions. Pilots don’t have a guarantee, but they know that if they are shot down & behind enemy lines, CSAR will move heaven & earth to come for them. The motto of the Air Force PJs is perhaps a good way to sum this all up. It’s simple: “That Others May Live” Ok, I hope that helps. As always, I’m simplifying many things for an audience that doesn’t have experience with these subjects. It’s much more complex than I’ve laid it out here, but I hope it’s a useful basic primer. Hope to soon hear both crew are home safely.
