And as you scroll through the list of key participants in the deal up pops Brookfield Asset Managent, which not so long ago and while still under the direction of Carney secured a $276 million loan from the Bank of China. Utter coincidence no doubt. The Liberals and their supporters will claim the new agreement with Beijing is a hedge against American bullying. If (when) the U.S. pushes Canada to the margins of the USMCA this country will become increasingly vulnerable to Beijing strong arm tactics. Are Mr. Carney and his Trudeau cabinet holdovers negotiating in the best interest of Canada, or Brookfield? They are not the same.
