$BOLD can’t scale. $DAI is centralized. $RAI can’t scale. Decentralized stablecoins can’t save the economy if they can’t scale to be the reserve.

Decentralized Currency Saves Fiat If the USD is worth more than the EUR, everything in Europe is cheaper for USD holders. How easy is it to sell a value prop of "the world is cheaper?" Fundamentally the fiat battlefield is governments inflating as much as they can without destroying their own economy.....mission impossible clearly. A reserve currency (i.e. fiat with a global monetary premium) simply prolongs the core ponzi failure case: the further you get from the fundamental value of the underlying, the harder the fall is when the market reprices it. And guess who's left holding the bag? Its citizens. We lose purchasing power every day until the currency collapses. You only "win" if you have access to investments & the excess cash to buy them. How does decentralized money change this? An exit. Decentralized currencies give citizens an exit from bad monetary policy, from sharp repricing, from monetary chaos....if the currency is bigger than the fiat at fault. So, the reserve currency must be decentralized; but is it really saving fiat if it only protects the people? Well lucky for us the benefits extend to the fiat system bc like it or not, fiat isn't all bad. Not being able to earn the monetary premium from reserve currency status means fiat currencies are forced into more realistic valuations (i.e. less capacity to safely inflate). Small room for error will then force the governments to actually use inflation efficiently instead of purely for greed. Better fiat = better economies. To wrap it up, (safe cex), decentralized reserve currencies: - create an exit for world citizens - create checks & balances for fiat - makes the world economy more efficient Hard to beat that.

we’re barely getting started with flywheel starting today, you can use flywheel as a cli in codex, claude code, and everything else we built the cli to feel as ergonomic and intuitive as possible for both humans and llms autonomous research, free from protocols

Am I taking crazy pills? Why is the pro-multisig side calling the anti-mutlisig side "theorists", "purists", and "idealists", when they are living in a fantasy world where liability and compliance burden don't exist?

In the future it’s possible that one of the primary liquidity providers for geopolitical l prediction markets are nation states on relevant questions. If you’re Taiwan, maybe you lose $100m/month providing crazy attractive liquidity on “Will China invade” to get early warning

A strange sensation is when you a driving a tractor, picking up and moving boulders, and you drop one just a little bit off, so you get out and give it a kick. This does nothing. Your mind for 30 minutes embodied the tractor, but you are not the tractor. Your foot hurts.

@Fiskantes I think it's more accurate to say, protocols who benefited from Aave underwriting their tail risk have now contributed. Bailout assumes the losses are being socialised somehow, which is not the case.

There’s a 20 day unstaking period to at 80% of umbrella has initiated. The problem specifically with this situation is that the bad debt hasn’t materialized but it’s like a meteor everyone can see coming so they run. I Umbrella is meant more for fairly synchronous bad debt. But this could take longer than 20 days due to legal. Which makes it hard to choose an unstaking time that could actually encompass all possible scenarios.

@brane_trix seems like the umbrella is completely pointless if it does not have a function that keeps the funds there after a potential risk shows up

Why hasn’t a market developed for $AAVE ‘s Umbrella? The same way a market was made for locked Aave-lent WETH, a market could be made for Aave Umbrella users. Could doesn’t mean would though. In the current situation, no one wants to be in Umbrella as they could lose all their capital to the bad debt fulfillment. The yield paid prior as the cost. But even outside of this situation, would a market be created for this junior tranche? A junior tranche wanting to exit early signals that there are eminent risks more than it signals a general desire for liquidity. A situation no one would want to provide an exit for. This is likely why we haven’t and won’t see any markets built to give liquidity to Aave Umbrella or any other junior tranche.

Risk managers are some of the most sophisticated players in the industry at risk analysis and the ones with the best incentives (if wrong the protocol dies) So we indexed all their recommendations, you can use that to track what drive risks changes to get the full picture

We've launched Risk metrics in DefiLlama! The best metrics come with real money on the line, so we devised a new one: how much $ would be lost across lending markets if a token got hacked This aggregates trust and willingness to extend credit to a token across risk managers

This is where we are right now. And i’m not gonna lie it feels pretty magical 🧚‍♀️ Qwen3.6 27B running inside of Pi coding agent via Llama.cpp on the MacBook Pro For non-trivial tasks on the @huggingface codebases, this feels very, very close to hitting the latest Opus in Claude Code, or whatever shiny monopolistic closed source API of the day is. In full airplane mode. Most people haven’t realized this yet. If you have, it means you have a huge headstart to what I call the second revolution of AI. Powerful local models for efficiency, security, privacy, sovereignty 🔥

This is a glimpse of big changes ahead of us. If you’re betting on big central models you should think twice. I run the exact same setup (M5 MacBook, qwen3.6-27B, pi, ollama) and while its not as fast or good as one of the big central models, it’s past the line of “cool demo” into “truly useful.” Kind of where the big frontier models were in late 2025. In ~24 months we might have local models that are fast and good enough for most tasks.
