"ETH is money" was the only way to justify the pump ex post; the only case for its price (never value). it then sent the roadmap down a completely incoherent path for half a decade. still may have been correct from a token price perspective

I disagree with this take because the other examples actually lead to solutions that made things better for consumers. There really isn’t much in crypto that has made things less frictional for a western user. Happy to be corrected if you think that I’m wrong.

Find a rule that protects incumbents more than consumers, grow faster than enforcement, turn users into constituency, help write the new rules. Nothing new under the sun.

- one decentralized money: bitcoin
- one decentralized computation network: ethereum
the rest don't need to pretend to be decentralized, being honest about the tradeoff is fine.
