a 2-4 road trip against two of the best/hottest teams in the league is probably fine. Getting this one today was big. Two middle/middle pitches by your closer is the difference between going 4-2 though and that still stings.

this is like the 10th time in two weeks relievers have thrown absolute insane pitches in high leverage spots against the tigers

I appreciate Gleyber’s candor here and not throwing his teammates under the bus but the bullpen has blown 5 games with a 5 run lead; Kenley has blown 2 saves this week. You scored 3 runs against the team with the best record in baseball, had a lead in the 9th, Kenley blew it

@MCB_johnverburg These losses stink. It ticks me off even more after the game that you get the same coach speak “long season, olsens a good hitter, these things happen, another game in 12 hours”

@bschut It's a tough road trip for sure but they've got to nail down these games when ahead. As you pointed out, walks are a killer.

You think the Tigers bullpen is bad now. Wait until Finnegan's walks start catching up with him. And they will.

@MCB_johnverburg That’s fair. You can’t get much tougher of a road trip and the injuries haven’t helped things. For as good as fretter is supposed to be, he sure hasn’t figured out how to get this bullpen to have better control. The walks have been infuriating.

@bschut I've definitely been negative about the bullpen but that started in March, cuz I personally didn't like the quality of arms. I'd prefer they kick ass and dominate and make me look silly. I think their offense is better than we give em credit for. As frustrating as they can be

Nice job kenley. Wasted a great skub start. Could not been more of a cookie. Vest needs to close going forward. He has been way better as a closer than a setup guy anyways.

@Hugeshow Javy blew it first. Worst at bat ever with bases loaded earlier in the game and then one of the worst errors of the season on a play little leaguers make at 2nd allowing to runs when they would have been out of the inning

I'm still stuck on this btw. he threw it twice in a row. to a lefty. it's like bringing in Trevor Hoffman and going "okay just remember, *don't* throw the changeup!"
