Utterly appalling. This has left me speechless.
This young Swedish girl is called Meya Åberg. She was 16 and was walking home after missing the bus. She was in a pedestrian tunnel when she encountered Yazied Mohamed, an 18 year old Eritrean refugee.
He raped her. She reported it immediately.
He was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison.
You would have thought that he would be deported afterwards. But no, the Swedish court ruled that although the crime was serious “the duration of the attack” was not long enough to warrant deportation.
Yes, you heard that correctly. She was not raped for long enough.
So Mohamed remains in Sweden.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired police dog Bane, following a short illness with cardiac cancer. Sadly, the illness became too much for him, and Bane let his family know that it was time for him to go into his forever sleep. 🌈
Bane served for six years with Cambridgeshire Police alongside his handler, PC McKenzie, who described him as a phenomenal police dog who absolutely loved his job. To mark their time together, PC McKenzie had Bane’s paw print tattooed on his arm, a lifelong tribute celebrating their remarkable career together.
Following his years of service, Bane retired to live with fellow police officers Cjay and Chris, who welcomed him into their family. He spent his retirement years making the most special memories with them. Cjay has kindly shared these words about Bane: "He was the light of our lives, we’re left with so much sadness. He taught and showed us so much in life, he was such a clever dog words cannot describe the love we had for him he was forever keeping us on our toes.
To everyone else he was a scary retired police dog but for us he was a gentle giant we nicknamed baney boos who loved snuggles on the sofa and in our bed, playing, treats (or just helping himself to his 12kg bag of food when he felt like it) and his little human sister who he fiercely protected until the end.
His last meal was medium well steak just how he liked it, inhaled in seconds in true Bane fashion. Bane we love you more than you’ll ever know, thank you for choosing us."
Stand down, Bane; your service is complete. May you rest in peace. 🙏💔🐶🇬🇧🚔

@EtherealElvis I don’t think I had that, but I had the two part albums of his gospel greats. I guess it might’ve been called.
