We are lucky in the product management role that there exists a comprehensive handbook showing us best practices in our profession. What is more amazing is how succinct and useful everything is. If you don’t have this book you need it! @jackiebo @gayle

For every app idea there is a person that will say "I can easily do that in Excel/Word/Wordpress". Don't ignore this person but don't necessarily give in either. If you don't have solid arguments about why they are wrong you need to get back and finish your research.

Tech products have a serious gap between what they promise their products will do for us and what they deliver. This gap is filled with marketing.

"We won't make this feature easier to use because it's not popular" is one of those things product managers need to stop and think more about. Is it not popular because it's not easy to use? Basic usage analytics may not be enough to uncover the truth behind this one.

@SCAutomation @ParissAthena Yes good point there, I would not blame the working people who have been target of this misinformation and obfuscation; but I see that it's more than just the tools we use to show data.

@caer @ParissAthena nah people are definitely to blame the "taxation is theft crowd" think any right wing media person of note, have disingenuously obfuscated progressive tax rates for years.

@SCAutomation @ParissAthena I don't think people are to blame. Whenever you see tax brackets there is one number next to ranges while the correct method is to add the number from previous bracket in dollars plus % of the rest in that range. For example:

To improve more, get into understanding research principles. Psychology or education research are good fields because UX and product is related to humans more than other fields. You can read a free textbook here: open.umn.edu/opentextbooks/…

I became a citizen a few months ago and voted for the first time today. I couldn't say a lot publicly about politics during my immigration process but I'm happy to say Democrats added another lifelong supporter to their list. I wish though @ewarren was on the ballot.
