NEW: Just 6% of eligible Ontario voters cast early ballot in advance polls this year, bolstering fears of a low voter turnout. As a result of the snap election there were only 3 days of advanced voting, down from 10 in regular election cycles. globalnews.ca/news/11032146/… #onpoli

Step one of resisting Trump? Vote out his most powerful supporter in Ontario. Ford is eager to bend to the will of a bully. He thinks we’re already beat. It’s time for leaders who believe in the power of Team Ontario’s everyday people and won’t back down. @OntarioNDP ✊️🍊

PC leader Doug Ford urges the feds to move on the border/fentanyl czar they committed to Monday to put off tariffs for 30 days. Says Canada needs to listen to its "customer", Donald Trump

The downloading of responsibility from the province to municipalities is not sustainable or affordable. Billions of property tax dollars are diverted each year to pay for provincial programmes, driving up your tax bill. The province should pay their own bills, not you. #OnPoli

Doug Ford knew Trump wanted a piece of Canada and still cheered him on. Why not? Ford hands out pieces of Ontario all the time: Therme. Loblaws. Staples. Elon Musk’s Starlink. He’s shown us who he’s in this for. Now he’s telling us. Stand up for Ontario. @OntarioNDP

NEW: Doug Ford's hot mic moment. Caught saying he wanted Donald Trump to beat Kamala Harris: "On election day, was I happy this guy won? One hundred per cent I was. Then the guy pulled out the knife and f—-ing yanked it in me." thestar.com/politics/provi…

When people show you who they are believe them!!!! If you think that Ford will “save” us from Trump you need to give your head a shake. His family supports MAGA, he has always supported Trump. He will sell all of us out in a heartbeat. We need real leadership.

NEW: Two years after the Ford government tasked one of its agencies with offering strategic advice on an attainable housing program, the policy remains dormant and the province says it is still working on a definition for the term. globalnews.ca/news/10864593/… #onpoli

@ColinDMello The solutions: 1. Appropriate ODSP & OW payments so recipients have an option besides utter destitution. 2. Deeply affordable subsidized housing units that very / low income persons can afford. 3. Supportive housing units for those who struggle on their own to keep them housed.

Premier Doug Ford, asked about homelessness: “We’re funding homeless like this province has never seen before.” He adds: “How about the rights of the property owners? How about the rights when they squat in your park and have needles all over the place.”

@HappyCanadian55 @JennieStevens_ @communitycarest Jennie Stevens is an MPP fighting for Niagara at Queen’s Park in Toronto, where Ford’s Conservatives continue to fail us on healthcare, housing, and affordability. Trudeau works in Ottawa. In Ontario, the Liberals aren't even the official opposite.

269...that's the number of families @communitycarest served in a single day last week, at their food bank alone. The highest number on record. The Premier is far too busy ripping up bike lanes to give a damn, but we need tangible solutions, NOW. ❗️❗️ #onpoli

Anyone else tired of the "we tried nothing and we're all out of ideas" crowd? These mayors could have demanded Ford restore the chronic homelessness funding he cut in his first term. Instead they campaigned to take away the human rights of their most at-risk citizens.

@JamesCulic @ungerkyle The ODSP recipients I work with would gladly accept $200, but they know it’s a measly sum with little impact on their day-to-day challenges.

@ungerkyle @calebratzlaff I don’t think ANYONE, homeless or otherwise, is “offended” by use of that word lol But i absolutely think lotsa low income people would see someone call $200 “measly” and think “look at this overprivileged upper middle class jerk” but again, just my 2 cents I ain’t the word cops

@JamesCulic When the average 1 bedroom apartment monthly rent is close to $1500, gas is $1.50 a litter, never mind the average weekly grocery bill, I think it’s safe to call a one time payment of $200 “measly.”

@calebratzlaff a low-income person might see you describing two hundred dollars as "measly" and come away thinking you are a bit out of touch; there are people out there for whom $200 is a lot of money; just sayin'
