@CZseventyfive @SFBART Public transport is essential infrastructure just like roadways and bridges that do not ever generate the same revenue. No public transport entity is designed to generate a profit or operate near it. Even non-riders benefit from the impact that BART has on the local economy.

@SFBART Your budget deficit is $376M. Not ours. Mismanagement. Waste. Not being able to anticipate lower ridership post-Covid. Using unions & “fair living wages” as a way to overpay for employees. I’d bet most BART employees make vastly more than riders do.

Some employers are buying their workers an unlimited transit pass that works on BART, rail, buses, and the ferry. We are selling it now. It is called Clipper BayPass and it is generating BART an extra $7M per year.

Sometimes when you're searching around on Google Maps, you get random transit agencies that just appear on GTFS when you click on a bus stop. I was looking at all the bus agencies around Seattle for the last two days and just found this one out. Wild.

Headed back to school? 🏫 Try transit! Many agencies offer "school-oriented routes" that are dedicated to students. Anyone can ride these buses, but they usually only run before and after school. Other agencies offer "trippers" that provide extra service. Good luck this year!
