@chefeatingout @CSMFHT Not always. Many ancient societies used a corvee system, where peasants would pay their tax partly or wholly in labor. Not that they didn't have slaves as well, but most Egyptian monuments were (afaik) built this way.

In 2016, a grandmother named Teresa Lashley created a group text to update family members about her daughter’s labor in a hospital in Georgia. She accidentally included a wrong number belonging to a stranger named Dennis Williams. Despite telling her she had the wrong number, Lashley sent a photo of the newborn. Williams replied, "Well I don't know y'all but me and the boys will be thru to take picture with the baby."
True to his word, Williams and his brother visited the hospital later that day, bringing gifts for the family.

My steamed Christmas ham, 3 kg gammon well rinsed overnight, trivet of vegetables leek, celery 2 onions 2 carrots b peppercorn 1 b white wine, foil string steam for 1 hour 40. remove excessive fat ,brush with mustard honey cloves bake, enjoy.
