@ZFARM_ Relievers are so fickle, you never know when someone like Garcia will fall into your lap. Look at Bryan Baker, he's now the closer of the AL East leading Rays. Got his 11th save of the season in Toronto tonight.

@ThirstRoundPick Elias got fleeced by Tampa on the Baz trade. It's NEVER a good idea to make a deal with Rays as a division rival especially it involves one of their pitchers. Why would Rays trade a young pitcher like Baz within the division unless they knew something?

@iJordanMoore Serious question, what’s impressive about winning regular season games. But never being in championship contention. You play to win championships not win games with a cheap roster.

The Tampa Bay Rays are 26-13, the best record in the AL. Their payroll ranks bottom 3 in MLB at $87 million. Their highest-paid player is Yandy Díaz ($12M). Every year they find a way to compete with teams spending 3x as much. One of the most impressive organizations in sports.

@KenWeinmanSport This game is over already after the Rice homer. Yanks picked Ben Rice with the 363rd pick of the 2021 draft. BTW Cowser was the 5th pick of that draft.

@jcalvinmeyer Just a friendly reminder that Ben Rice was the 363th player picked in the 2021 draft, 358 players after O's picked Cowser.

@Alex_1228__ I don't mind not signing Cease. The much bigger mistake was not going harder after Max Fried the year before.

@nonfungiblecuck So we can add a below average regressing bat for over $100 mil who will be on the books until he’s 38? Yeah… I’ll pass. Better options out there.

@afkostka Rays who have won 14 out of their 16 and are currently leading the division have given up more than 3 runs in game ONCE during the stretch, 4 runs on Thursday in Boston.

The Orioles have allowed three or more runs in 25 straight games, which is their longest streak of doing that since 2019

This is just another example of why it's usually not a good idea to make deals with Rays when it involves one of their pitchers. Why would they trade a young pitcher like Baz to one of their division rivals? Elias gave up 4 prospects for a below average SP. Maybe he should've drafted a couple of pitchers instead of Cowser or Kjerstad.

Shane Baz was given a 5-year, $68 million contract extension prior to the season I am very unsure why this is where the Orioles chose to spend that money.

@BradFromFlorida @DanClarkSports Kjerstad has a head injury that he’s just not gonna recover fully from. Cowser needs to figure out hitting fast or he’ll be out in a couple of years. Rutschman is an every day player that they’re bubble wrapping for some reason. Holliday has plenty of time. Beavers will be fine.

My goodness, the Orioles really have wasted an entire decade's worth of first round draft picks... Bust, after bust, after bust, after bust, with a very light sprinkling of mediocrity. That's it. Absolutely pathetic.

@jcalvinmeyer This team will never win with Gunnar at SS. They need to move him back to 3b and get a defensive SS. Gunnar is a Liability there. 2023 they won 100 games with Gunnar at 3rd

Kyle Bradish's three-run inning should have been a clean inning. The Orioles' infield assumes Zack Gelof is going to bunt, and Gunnar Henderson starts running to third. Instead, Gelof swings away, and his grounder right where Henderson was standing goes for an RBI single.

@boogsenthusiast @ajbirdland @kylegoon He has NEVER been a good defensive 3B at any level. He's not gonna play 1B regularly for the next few years as long as Everyday Pete stays healthy. Either he'll have to hit enough homers to stay in the lineup and/or he'll have to learn to play RF.

@chokers_whiners @ajbirdland @kylegoon Maybe spending all of last year telling him he’s a 1B not a 3B then signing a 1B then yanking him back to 3B and anointing him the 3B for this year after telling him he’s not good enough and giving him 0 reps there for a year? lol

Ton of respect for Coby’s effort and how he’s tried to approach this challenge. But the Orioles have known since last season he’s not a big league third baseman. He’s in a tough spot, and the team has left him there too long.

@ajbirdland @kylegoon How? He has NEVER been much of a 3B defensively and he has always had the throwing problem. Which is why they worked him at 1B and RF. At some point it's no longer a coaching problem. He just SUCKS at throwing.

@MattCarlson18 @kylegoon He had the same problem in the minors so this is nothing new. At some point it's no longer a coaching problem. The player has to work at it and get better.

@kylegoon His errors are mostly in throwing and there is an obvious reason why. There is no reason why this has not been fixed in his career. I cannot understand. 🤯
