DSA passed Principles for Party Building in 2025 to affirm our independence from Democrats. Anti-socialist ballot line laws can't deter us from using elections to build mass socialist organization. Instead, democracy & independence--markers of a true party--protect us from Dems.
Our forebears did not have the freedom to build a Party of a New Type as we do now. The had to settle for “Black faces in high places”—and those faces sure liked their high places. We must make good on what our ancestors started and rebuild a liberatory vision for Black workers.
