One of the interesting things is that people who didn't take a conventional path to become therapists, who had other careers beforehand for example, will often have non-traditional personalities compared to the baseline average expectable therapist personality. That personality made to a significant extent be a cliche or stereotype, but there is almost always truth to such generalizations. Because there are many more people who go into psychotherapy as second career or after trying other things for a little while, the personality variability among psychotherapists has increased considerably over the years. With social media becoming pervasive, this has created an opportunity for "non-traditional" psychotherapists to express themselves in ways that conventional psychotherapists generally wouldn't.
