The Comedy Doctor

I wrote this.

I made a rug of my favourite scene of my favourite episode of my favourite TV show where my favourite character delivers my favourite joke. I made the pattern myself. It's taken just over a year & is made up of 19312 individual knots (plus the many more that were wrong & undone)

@comedy_doc Earlier this year, I got a train from Leeds to Leicester the day after a minor operation. All trains around it were cancelled, I didn't get my reserved seat and was squashed in with three trains worth of people. Getting off, I got whacked with a suitcase and popped a stitch

Travelling on a busy train reminds you how selfish people can be. Took ages for anyone to move so my partner on crutches could sit, and only then when asked, and someone couldn't wait for me to move to get their suitcase down from overhead compartment and fully dropped it on me.

Other people my age have their phone galleries full of pictures of their kids. Mine is full of this robin who follows me around. I love him.

@SarahLidsActor Do it! They're like a tenner on Amazon and it means I get entertained by sweet little birds while washing up. And the pigeons and squirrels can't get to them because they're too chunky so the little ones get a chance

@andrewjosephact Everything that comes to our garden goes mad for sunflower seeds that are still in the shell. They don't eat the shell but also don't really care for ones that are shelled ready for them. But most days the squirrels get there first and polish all those off.

@comedy_doc My Robin is currently loving the fat balls . Also the nuts. The goldfinches love the sunflowers seeds and Niger seeds. The goldfinches won’t eat anything else but the sunflower and Niger seeds. I gave up on the mixed seeds as they won’t touch them

@danwaterfield Oh god I know. I'm now teaching students at that college WHO WERE BORN THE YEAR WE LEFT.

Trying to stick with the good habit of having a calm morning coffee outside with the birds even when the weather's rubbish. An easy habit in spring & summer & I've got to remind myself of the good impact on my day & stick with it! Plus wellies at 7am feels like I'm at a festival

Personal success story

There's a condom demonstrator in our office that used to belong to the health and social care team, and we don't know how or why we got it, but it's been there for years. This week we gave him a smiley face and a crocheted cowboy hat.
