@HelenTopping7 @tes It's with a heavy heart that I encourage you to go for it. I've got my life back, time for hobbies and friends. I still miss the classroom though but it has taken its toll 😔

@tes I'm leaving teaching after 33 years - can't hack the stress and pressure anymore. Need to protect me or I won't make retirement. Having a new career challenge in January utilising my skills. Used to live and breathe education.

@tes Teaching is both the best and the worst job in the world. I absolutely loved the classroom. Stayed there for 23 years. Kids loved my lessons, extra curricular provision was rammed. None of this mattered to management. They just wanted grades. That's not education.

I got the impression girls who are very good at maths tend to be a bit nerdy/odd & mainstream girl doesn't want to hang out with, or be like them. But no, it's all patriarchy or sumfink.
