Good patch. Smart change to overheads, sensible buffs/nerfs, fun new toys for a lot of the cast. Only critique is for being one of the only patches we get a year it still feels a little underwhelming. If we got this scale of changes a bit faster I would be 100% satisfied. 7/10

2026 CPT and most other FG circuits look to be more of the same based on what has been announced so far Too soon for big changes ahead of the 2027 season, when there will be EWC partnerships pending renewal, EVO's massive expansion, probably an aggressive SFL push, etc.

As if Capcom Cup wasn't enough to show just how right Japan was about Ed, domination from Fuudo and Leshar in SFL Worlds just like in SFL JP. It's such a ridiculous duo. Those two + Tokido and Daigo already being qualified for the next capcup sure is good for Capcom business...

About EWC SF6: They recently announced the "Title Defenders" invitees, one of the conditions being that players must remain in the same team to meet that criteria. Since Xiaohai is now Falcons instead of KSG, he's no longer invited to EWC 2026 and will need to qualify instead

Sahara: - Picked up fighting games with the release of SF6 (former FPS pro). - Started entering tournaments in 2024. - Got signed by G8S in 2025. - Capcom Cup champion in his first full season as a professional player. Talk about making the most out of an opportunity
incross@crossknockout

Reminder that before SF6, Sahara was a Fortnite/Valorant player. Within a year of playing FGs he got in Haitani's youth program, which inspired him to go pro and led him to be picked up by G8S. 8 months later and he already won his first major and qualified for CapCup. Speedrun

Sahara winning wasn't completely out of left field since he's recently been a top 10 player in terms of results, but still wild because it's so rare someone comes this far this fast. Shoutouts Kilzyou too! With that said, I really hope Capcom Cup is treated better next year
