Caught up with KOF at EVO JP, Lacid had a wild run but I'm also glad to see M' take a big one in XV. This guy has been breathing nothing but KOF for more than 16 years, easily top 3 all time with Xiaohai and ET. And thank you SNK for giving the game another big patch 🙏

@osirisdraco Xiaohai's dominance in early XV made a lot of people forget M' is one of the few people that can consistently rival him as his peak

@crossknockout Totally agreed! People need to remember if M' won Laggia in SWC 2023, he would had 3 time SNK KOF tittle(2 time Neo geo world tour, predecessor of SWC), in XV Xiaohai never want play mirror team with M', he always counterpick(2023 SWC patch with Geese, Beni, Isla, Xiaohai lost).

@RobertoLan2812 It's not just you, he's known to have a very reserved personality even among his peers in Japan. He also tends to play meta so not much love from the west from that perspective either. But at the end of the day his achievements from 02UM to XV speaks for itself

@crossknockout Maybe it's just me, but it feels like M' doesn't get enough credit/recognition as much as ET and Xiaohai. I completely agree with you he's definitely top 3, his track record backs this.

@jav1ts Kusanagi went 1-2 In 2024 Jazzy actually went 0-2 EVO JP pools are a casino, there are just way too many threats with little tournament record

In 2016, Momochi created an organization to develop new players in Japan. Yamaguchi was 14 and joined it with two other players, one of them being Higuchi who was also 14. 10 years later and they're still under Momochi but now as teammates, reaching new heights in their career

@DubC_FGC He's a known Akuma top player in Japan since SFV It could still be considered an upset by many, but not really the focus of the post

EVO Japan 2026 SF6 Round 2, 3 and 4 Biggest Upsets. Largely focused on top 160 seeds losing to players out of the same tier range (≥3 UF). Which basically translates to: Your favorite players trying to survive an army of lesser known players looking to prove themselves
