A disabled child in that room yesterday saw a PhD and decided to be a medical doctor. That is the whole argument. Representation is not symbolism. It is a child quietly updating what they believe is possible about themselves.

Most people who make it out, simply leave. They send money. They call on Christmas. That is enough, and it is understandable. But these two came back - not for applause. To stand where everyone could see them and make the road visible.

The problem with being consistent in private is that nobody sees it. But that is also the point. What you do when there is no audience is the only version of you that is entirely honest.

Nobody was watching. No accountability partner. No running group. Just me, the road, and an agreement I made with myself some years ago. That's the whole secret to discipline. You have to become someone who shows up for themselves first.

My body had a full board meeting this morning about whether we were running. Motion was rejected unanimously. I went anyway. That's the only definition of discipline that has ever made sense to me.

@ZubyMusic The diagnosis was never the problem. We've always known. The issue is that the solution inconveniences people who benefit from the confusion. So the conversation stays open. Deliberately.

The answers to many modern problems are simple but politically incorrect. So instead of solving anything, everybody pretends they don't know what's going on, and spend years misdiagnosing the issue, talking in circles, and wasting time.
