So I did a thing. I created this little(ish) weather dashboard for my mother-in-law. She has some pretty severe mobility issues and wanted a way to see the time and the current weather without having to grab her phone or tablet every time. It's pretty basic, with a RPI 4B running @dakboard and a 7.1" IPS panel surrounded by a 3D printed enclosure I designed for it. Despite its simplicity it's had a positive effect on her day-to-day living and that, to me, is worth any amount of time and expense.

@bob_digga Hey there! I replied to your FB message but here's a condensed answer. So DAKboard is actually cloud-hosted. The Pi is used simply to connect to it. You create your DAKboard account with any sub, free or paid, to connect it to the Pi.

@dakboard was wondering about self hosting on a pi and how free/essential/plus works. would the Dakboard OS have the free version installed, and still have to subscribe? if so, are there any upgrades included by going the self hosted route? thank you.
