Couldn’t agree more @paulcullystuff , it’s the most subjective and unsafe part of the modern game. I played under some law variations in the NPC 2016 which I thought got the balance a lot better

New law refinement for rugby. Remove the scrum as an option from the penalty. Stops repeated scrums as teams just scrum for a yellow card and not points. I love scrums but that’s not a spectacle the game needs.

Mixed emotions on this one 🤔 Good for overall competitiveness but personally I’d like to see a longer stand down period and a cap on the number of tests played for the first country.

Is anyone else just a little bit excited about @rugbyworldcup 2023 after this weekend of Rugby. Some big shots fired by Sth Hem teams but absorbed and Nth come up trumps. Slade, Du Pont and Beale at their best. Wayne Barnes clearly best ref at the moment. #AutumnNationsSeries

Rennie raises a strong point in the Japanese three signing their deals with no thought of playing Test footy again. Do they get the deal in the first place if they go in saying they might be called up? Hard to say. But does explain why it was extra sensitive this time.

Short term contracts/match payments for additional players required to fill wallaby gaps. 🔑 is make it something the provinces respect & want to win so they don’t rest everyone or let them have NZ/Jap sabbaticals

It's the easiest, cheapest, quickest, least offensive, most bang for buck solution going, and it could happen next year with not much additional outlay..

Expand the RC ASAP. Maybe two tiers held concurrently with promo/relegation. Enforcing Reg9 for full strength squads is crucial. Inevitable that SA will leave eventually, north/south calendar unsustainable for them

@kinson88 Taken out of context I reckon. If you read/listen to the full interview he’s actually saying after Saturday for the guys in the wallabies that have now played the all blacks for the first time “maybe the aura has worn off a bit”
