@psframes Any mention of Pieter De Hooch is an opportunity to post Ustinovs story about the Dutch De Hooch expert and the Duke.

We framed Pieter de Hooch‘s Courtyard Scene today. The clumsy gilded 20th century replica frame was replaced with a newly acquired Dutch 17th century ebonised fruitwood ripple moulding frame. This is 400th re-framing of the permanent collection (NG) during my tenure.

@PieterBeullens @lefineder @uptick222 Attributions of authorship in the screenshot you posted suggest sloppy data curation… to say the least.
English

Here are the best-selling authors in the Medieval period based on the number of surviving manuscripts of their work in a massive database.
It is noticeable how prominent ancient writers are in top spots, 6 of the top 10 authors wrote in the 5th century or earlier, in the Greco-Roman period.
It is as if the most well-published authors in the world today were born hundreds of years in the past, in a civilization that collapsed.

@lefineder @uptick222 I found the answer to my own query. Let's tentatively agree that the initial data might be flawed?

@GrammarTable The University adopted, but quirk-servingly adapted, the AP style guide.
English

@dcbyron David, on the AP part of your comment: Are you saying AP wants capital "the" generally in such instances or are you saying that the university style guide as a whole is adapted from AP? Or something else?
