Same look, different day. As I sat in the courtroom observing Karmelo Anthony, I watched him carefully. People have wondered why the defense didn’t put him on the stand. After watching him throughout this trial, I think I understand why. There was something about his demeanor that stood out to me. I can’t quite put it into words yet, but it left an impression. But know that this will almost definitely lead to widespread violence. How will you feel when it’s your teenager who gets shot at the protest? What exactly am I supposed to have in common with these people? “We’re all Americans.” No we are not. I have nothing whatsoever in common with people like this. We don’t share similar lives, values, or even metaphysical belief systems with respect to how one should carry themselves in public.
