Under the constant stress that full-scale war has brought, it is crucial to learn to overcome its destructive effect on the psyche. It is also essential to teach this to children. That is why Save Ukraine therapists Nataliia Lypchak and Daria Biloshchena conducted training on "Stress and its prevention" for teenagers. The participants learned about the impact of stress on the human body and learned to overcome it on their own. Trainers demonstrated several helpful techniques that you can use in stressful situations to relieve tension. One of the most effective exercises is rhythmic breathing. Its essence is simple: at the expense of inhaling, holding your breath, and exhaling, gradually increasing the intervals. For example, inhale for 3 seconds, hold for 3 seconds, and exhale for 3 seconds. Then repeat for 5, 7 seconds, and so on. But teenagers liked the "Erase information" exercise the most. You need to imagine a blank sheet of paper, draw a negative situation, and mentally erase it with a rubber until the picture disappears. Such techniques help reduce the concentration of attention on the stressful factor and quickly find balance. The participants realized that they should not fear the stress. But on the contrary, they should develop skills to overcome difficulties and maintain health. *** Consultations are held within the program "Complex Psychological Assistance to #Children and Families Affected by the War" of the @USAIDUkraine project "Development of a Sustainable Public Health System" with the support of @PactWorld . The program aims to provide psychological support to displaced adults and children who have traumatic experiences.
